We ordered several dishes today. Special fried rice and chicken chow mein. I had chicken chow mein. We've been to this place 3 times now. First couple of times was great. This time special fried rice was nice but the chicken chow mein was absolutely awful!! It was very greasy and when I moved the plate side to side the noodles was literally sliding around the plate. It lacked taste and it ultimately slid in the bin. I ended up having something out of the freezer. I will never go there again. What a shame.
We have been a customer for t many years to many to count
Yes there have been mistakes over the years but that's life never needed to complain before, but enough is enough
Meal for 2 on Saturday used to be £22 we know about the cost of living crisis but this weekend
Order placed , wrong again found when dishing up at home rice instead of main meal , Luke warm flavorless and bland
No starters, no desert
Just 2 main meals 2 sides and prawn crackers £36.50
Wow what a rip off, so enough is enough I understand the crisis we are all going through it but this is ridiculous and no way to keep your customers ????
Had a really good meal last night . Thank you
First time ordering from this establishment and delivery to dunston was within 30mins, driver was friendly, food was still nice and warm, good portions and tasty! Would use these Chinese again ????????
Changed from a 5 star review to 1 star after using Supreme many times. A few weeks ago we ordered on a Saturday night and after 5+ calls to chase our delivery it finally arrived two hours late. The takeaway is also cash only and they don’t wear masks or gloves when delivering which means almost no Coronavirus safety measures. Not a takeaway to be trusted.
I don't know what it is about Branston and Chinese takeaways, especially when it comes to noodle dishes, but this place was a huge disappointment just like the other one up the road by the Co-op was which we tried a couple of years ago.
When I clocked their mediocre 3 star hygiene rating in the window I should have just gone with my gut instinct and walked two doors on to get a curry instead but our regular haunt on the Newark Road was unexpectedly shut tonight for some reason and the other members of my household wanted Chinese so I went with it, big mistake:
The Sweet+Sour Chicken Hong Kong Style was just pieces of battered chicken with a measly bit of sauce poured over but absolutely no peppers, onions or pineapple in there. I did ask the lady who took my order about how the dish came beforehand but I struggled to understand anything she said so foolishly I just said "yeah go on".
I couldn't find chicken with green peppers in black bean sauce on the menu so I asked her about that too to which she responded something or other with her keep mentioning "garlic sauce"? Unfortunately I went along with that for it to turn out to be a rainbow of various coloured peppers and a sauce that didn't seem to be particularly black bean like at all, alas the meat wasn't all that either.
The noodle dishes, both the mushroom and the beef, looked rather unappetizing and once I did try the Mushroom Chow Mein I could only manage to muster the enthusiasm to sample one mouthful because it was bland and although the missus said the beef was quite tender she agreed that that too was ever so bland.
To add insult to injury the final straw came before I'd even been handed the food. This was because a gentleman I assume to be the governor shouted out to the kitchen in Mandarin at the top of his voice with no more than the width of the counter and no protective screen between us whilst still facing me but with NO FACE MASK ON what I can only assume was him enquiring as to where my side order of Satay sauce was when it turned out to be in the bag already.......not exactly what you're wanting in these pandemic times is it?
I've uploaded a pic of everything that was left over after the three of us had finished, which is the containers of the four dishes I'd ordered still as good as full so make your own judgement.
Sorry to be harsh but there's nothing supreme about here apart from its most inappropriate name, it was awful so never again!
Fantastic choice and really tasty food, don't be fooled by the decor, had the sweet chilli beef and sweet and sour chicken hong kong style very tasty, very reasonably priced, curries decent as well, highly recommended!
Excellent food. Never been disappointed. Friendly staff.
Would recommend!
