???? Canning Town
???? £4.00 Carlsberg
A Friendly Backstreet Canning Town Local.
Streeties is located in a quiet backstreet in the heart of Canning Town. The nearest Tube is Canning Town, it’s a five minute walk to get here.
This pub started life as The Prince Alfred and was built in the late 19th century. The pub was renamed Streeties in the 1980’s after ex-landlord Bobby Street.
This is a bright and airy compact one bar boozer that is immaculately clean. The servery is centrally located and stretches down the majority of the length of the bar. At the far left is a Pool Table, on the right hand side is a seating area with a large screen TV. One unusual addition to the fixtures and fittings is a bird cage. This is the home for the pub’s parrot Trevor, Trevor can be often seen around the pub keeping an eye on things.
The beer selection was a full of mainstream brands including Guinness but no cask ales. I decided on a pint of Carlsberg, my pint was excellent, price point was great at only four quid a pint. I didn’t notice a food menu but there were plenty of bar snacks if you’re peckish.
I arrived just after 12pm on a warm Saturday afternoon in September. There were a few locals sat around the bar having a chinwag whilst the Sheffield Utd v Everton game was on the TV. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed with a local pub feel. The service was great, the Lady who served me was welcoming and friendly.
Since the 1970s, 53 pubs have closed in the E16 Royal Docks postcode area and thankfully @streetiespublichousee16 endures. This is a proper locals pub that is welcoming, friendly and offers a very reasonably priced well kept pint. Worth a visit when you’re in the area.

Tucked behind the main strip in canning town, the pub with the parrot. He was looking at me a little funny but it's to be expected. The beer list is all macro lagers, no cask beer or hazy pale ales on offer here. It was quiet with the horse racing on the TV, very brightly lit establishment with a pool table at the back. I can't really say it has much charm but then again neither does the canning town area. If you're in dire need of a cold lager then you can't go wrong. Pieces of eight
Found this lovely pub by chance was staying night at Premier inn. Great service friendly landlady and a great mix of friendly regulars would def go back to just visit pub again.
Authentic local watering hole ????????
Mix of regulars and tourists.
Chilled beers at reasonable prices.
Went back multiple times and enjoyed ????????
I was in this pub with my girlfriend last summer after a work event at ExCel. We always try to have a beer in proper pubs when we visit places. The event is happening again this year and it made me think about our visit to Streeties. It was about 17:00 on a Tuesday when we arrived. By the time we left we were doing tequila slammers with the locals. Absolutely love Streeties - places like this really matter. Can't wait to return for another 'Tequila Tuesday'.
Old Skool boozer. Took me right back to the early nineties when I used to go to my local workermens club with my dad as a kid. Complete with well priced beers and a parrot. Great atmosphere!
One of the friendliest and welcoming bars I’ve been in a long time, Great range of drinks and very reasonable prices for London. Definitely on a return list when back down this way.
Solid boozer. Went here for some beverages before an event and couldn't have asked for a more perfect pub. £13 for a round of three pints and a gin and tonic, nice lady behind the bar. Don't be put off by how rough it looks, everyone inside was lovely.
