Mixed bag really ????????♂️
Seems like the staff are still learning and haven’t quite got the hang of things yet. We ordered three drinks, 2 came within 5 mins but the third drink was nowhere to be seen. It was only a kids fizzy orange. When we asked where it was we were told that they’d ‘had to nip out to the shop for some more’ ????. Not a good start. Restaurants may have to ‘nip out’ to the local shop from time to time but you don’t tell the paying public that ! Bottles of wine are plonked on top of huge ice blocks in a wine chiller but this method doesn’t even cool the wine. It’s common practice to use crushed ice for wine coolers as the wine bottle can get pushed into it so the ice comes up the sides of the bottle to keep it cool for longer. On a plus side the food was good. The sea food marinara was spot on, couldn’t fault it, as were the roast potatoes. All in all we enjoyed our meal but not the service. We only live local so we’ll no doubt be back, but I think we’ll leave it a few months to see if things improve.
Food was incredible!! The steaks were perfection, sauces and sides also delicious. The blonde girl who served us was also really good at her job and very friendly. An amazing experience overall and highly recommended.
We had a lovely family meal great food friendly service only down side was the very bad lighting in the booth we sat in we had to put our phone lights on to read the menu otherwise a very pleasant evening
After a different restaurant being recommended in this chain we tried to book it with no success. We tried this one and it was awful. The service was poor, they were obviously struggling for trained staff but everyone has to learn. It was the food that was very poor. I ordered cheese garlic bread which was nice but lacking in garlic. I then ordered spaghetti bolonase. It was the worst I have ever tasted. It was so sloppy, it was like it came out of a tin. My husband had steak and it was very bland. I left it as it was inedible and it was knocked off the bill but would never go back.
Well where do I start. Booked function room to be told on morning it was flooded. 32 of us sat at back of restaurant. Pre booked our food in advance. When seated to be told no chicken. Half hour later told no larger or lemonade. A member of our party sent steak back twice. To then have to leave it as burnt on outside and uncooked inside. Absolute shambles from beginning to end of night. Definitely Definitely would NOT RECOMMEND food or venue
Booked for a 21st birthday and after only good experiences at the Belmont restaurant was expecting much more from the Seaham restaurant.
Table booked for 7:30 not ready on arrival, decided to have a drink at the bar however no one to serve drinks with many customer waiting.
Long delay in being offered menus and drinks at the table. Eventually got some service and placed food order, asked for wine list only to be told sorry got no wine list and only one bottle of Merlot left in restaurant or a bottle of white wine (Blossom Hill) £30 for steak and couldn’t get any wine to drink it with it as sharing one bottle with a party of 7.
Steak restaurant with no wine !!
Food when it arrived was really good so hats off to the chef and the team as no complaints on the food.
Reputations take a long time to build and seconds to destroy and unless the owners get control of the restaurant and front end operations then a good reputation will be ruined very quickly.
I will return and give it another opportunity based on previously positive experiences.
Shocking!! Very poorly ran establishment! Booked table at 7.30 told to wait at the bar, no dedicated bar staff, queues at the bar while staff cleaned forks but didn’t have the sense to serve paying customers! Bar staff seamed very inexperienced, ran out of larger only 2 white wines to choose from and only 1 red wine available in a steakhouse???? eventually got table at 8 o’clock ask for drinks menu “sorry we don’t have a drinks menu” ???? another 20 mins to have order taken waited another 20 mins no food so decided to walk out! At £30 for fillet steak you would expect good service! Or at least some service! Oh forgot to mention fire alarm went off too! The only good thing to mention was the smell of the food ????
Prebooked 3 weeks ago for last night for my aunts 78th birthday. 7 of us arrived on time only to find that it’s closed. Well thanks for not contacting us. Hastily we went elsewhere. I have heard that Stirks is in financial difficulty.
But the decent thing to do is treat your customers with a bit of respect.
