What a great garage. Somewhat panicked, after another garage booked me in only later to tell me they didn’t have the tools to fix my car (a coolant haemorrhage due to a failed water pump), I’m so glad I found Stepping Hill Garage who not only fixed my car (water pump + new timing belt), and verified there were no other leaks, but did an excellent full service too. The car now runs better than ever, and that's after an overheating event.
Before I decided to call Stepping Hill Garage, I checked their reviews and was struck by how laudatory they were (many commenting on the good and honest character of the garage owner/mechanic, which was extremely reassuring) and, after seeing photos on their Facebook page of people entrusting them with their extremely expensive cars, I thought I should give them a go. Reviews can sometimes be too good to be true – I’ve certainly been caught short before now – but Dave and Stepping Hill Garage certainly lived up to every good word people had to say about them. Excellent service, kind and reassuring, and reasonably priced – this will now be my go to garage for both mine and my wife’s car. Easy and cheap to get taxis too (if you need them), as the garage is right next to the hospital which is swarming with them.
Absolutely faultless. Dave is a top mechanic. Really up front and honest about work and prices. Excellent standard of work, I recommend him to all friends and family. Honestly 5 stars doesn't do him justice. Really highly recommended!

Won't rip you off, giving sensible choices of repairs. e.g. recently, I was given the choice of using a genuine manufacturer's part at £100 +vat or an equivalent part off eBay for £50 +vat. Saying it would easily see out the life of my car.

Just fantastic. If you want repairs done right without cutting corners, this is the garage. First class from the first meeting through to the collection. Sorted out coolant leak on Touraeg that main dealer had ignored previously. This is my go to garage from now on for all car servicing and repairs. Many thanks Dave
Excellent: I have been using this garage for three years now . My car is relatively old. I had a service & MOT earlier this week and the car is driving as well as I can remember. The owner, David, seems to treat my vehicle as if it was his own. The workmanship is efficient and the cost economic.
Can not rate Stepping Hill Garage highly enough, exemplary service from start to finish!
Took my car in for service and MOT; got a call couple of hours later saying the car had passed and that they'd inspected the various filters and service items. They were honest enough to say that most were still in very good shape so wouldn't require changing, which I doubt some garages I've taken the car to previously would do.
They even gave the car a quick wash before I collected it which was a nice touch!
Will definitely be using this garage going forward and wouldn't hesitate to recommend!
I had a fantastic experience at this garage with one of the mechanics Dave. He was really friendly and super helpful and I was delighted with the service I received. I had my MOT and a full service and he did a really thorough job and explained everything to me. As a young woman with not much experience when it comes to cars, going to a garage can be a really daunting experience but he made me feel at totally at ease and I had piece of mind that I wasn't going to be ripped off. Many thanks again for all your help, would highly recommend! :)
