This pharmacy used to be extremely good ,hence why I chose it over Tesco nearby . I have noticed it has changed a lot and just discovered that this is because “ Stephen” is no longer there . It shows! With the exception of I believe one female member of staff I recognise that has been there a while, staff seem to lack the qualities they should have to work in a busy pharmacy practice .
Staff need patience and the ability to communicate well with their patients .
This morning I was greeted by a staff member in hat , coat and scarf like they’d just walked off the street !
No apparent heating issues as other staff were dressed in suitable work attire . I collected prescription and asked for some advice re a cough medicine.
The staff member didn’t seem knowledgeable enough to help me choose one .
Very disappointing.
They are riding on the previous good reputation of the previous pharmacist and should change its name as their service doesn’t come close .
Have nothing but good things to say about this pharmacy. I’ve used them for many years. I would say they have actually improved in the past year or so.
They always deliver my meds correctly and on time. Delivery guy is lovely. I sometimes use their telephone service for acute issues and the staff and pharmacist are always pleasant, knowledgable and don’t make you feel like you are an inconvenience.
I am certain that sometimes people are having to wait for prescriptions etc. pharmacists are under huge strain just like everywhere in the NHS. Just because there aren’t any people in the pharmacy doesn’t mean that the pharmacist doesn’t have a ton of work they need to complete by a certain time (eg prescriptions for delivery). I genuinely believe they’re doing their best for their patients in an extremely tough time for the NHS.
The only negative is a lack of opening hours at the weekend but I understand that staffing levels and budgeting likely dictates this.
This used to be one of the best pharmacies in the area. Unfortunately since 'Stephen' left the service has deteriorated. A little PR training at the front desk wouldn't go amiss thats for sure.
Just went to pick up an antibiotic prescription (Saturday morning) only to find out it was closed. These people shouldn’t be trading under Stephen’s name. Stephen was the ultimate professional, who cared and took pride in his business. I could go on with positive words. I hear only negative feedback now from relatives and friends. The new owners need to clean up their act and clean the shop whilst they’re at it. If Stephen could do it then why can’t you!
I have been using this pharmacy for over 13 years, always found the staff friendly and caring. Recently things have changed drastically it doesn’t feel friendly or inviting when you enter the chemist. You’re kept waiting for long periods of time. It has certainly dropped its standards since Stephen left. There is no communication it’s very disappointing as it was such a friendly experience going there to collect your prescriptions. Now I only have Sarah to rely on in there, she knows her job and understand the customers, she is always happy to help I think a lot of us regulars will seeking help through Sarah in future.
I and my family have used this pharmacy for over 40 years. I've always been very happy with the service but since Mr Stephens left it has become appalling. On the last 5 occasions I have been to collect prescriptions I have waited up to 30 minutes with no explanation or apology. On 3 occasions items were missing. I always go at quiet times during the day so that was not the issue. I've reluctantly decided to change pharmacies. I believe in supporting local businesses but it needs to be a 2 way street. Rather than improving their service they've now shortened their opening hours, not opening at all at weekends.
Always had excellent service till Stephen retired. He took the time to give reassurance and advice if needed.
Stephen and his staff were so pleasant and helpful.
Customers are now treated as an inconvenience: late or missing prescriptions, phone switched off or unanswered, rude staff....
When I complained, I was advised to change to a chemist in Speke, who would be grateful for my business!
I can barely manage the walk to Stephen's, but thankyou for the suggestion.
We've been with Rowland's Pharmacy for years, I don't know what made me change to Stephens Pharmacy thinking it's probably closer to us. One of the worst decisions I have ever made. Always wasting my time saying prescriptions are ready only to get there to be told different story. Will be changing it back to our usual Rowlands
