Easily missable but lovely coffee, delicious cake and a friendly owner who went above and beyond by putting a bench outside from us when they had no free tables (and it's easy to see why!)
Didn't try the breakfasts but they look stunning
A terrific flat white after a walk around Tollgate Park. The service was really welcoming. There's a selection of coffees, syrups, teas along with cakes, brownies, biscuits. I'm not sure whether there's sandwiches or something for lunchtime breaks but for a coffee break its grand. There's prob space for 20 inside and when we visited there were several comfortable chairs and sofas to choose from. Across the road is Tollgate Park which is good for dog walking and there's a decent children's playground
Always such a pleasure to come here whether it is by myself or with my daughters… lovely staff, beautiful coffee and cakes as a treat… a fave in our family ????????????
I was looking forward to visiting this morning but I left extremely disappointed. I was under the impression I could buy a coffee gift. I believe the problem is the staff need to go on a customer service course! The female's reaction was as if I'd asked to buy a pair of socks! No help or suggestions at all and no inclination to offer me anything else. The other teenager didnt move from their spot behind the counter. A lesson in customer care/service definitely a good investment!
Been a few times. Each time gets worse. Coffee is always tepid. Tea tasteless. Never much in the fridge food wise. Advertise tea and toast girl said no bread. There's a coop 2 doors down. There's absolutely zero ambience in this place. I had high hopes when I come home to visit for this place. I actually will never go in again
Called in here to give a local coffee shop a chance twice.
First time - New girl on her first day, showed she was struggling, didn't know where anything was however did end up serving us as the only ones in the coffee shop. The owner / Manager sitting on the sofa talking to a friend.
Place was also very, very dusty and dark looking. Coffee wasn't worth the extra cost and didn't taste great.
Second visit - Served no problem, again Coffee shop was still dusty and dark.
Coffee still didn't taste right, won't be going back a 3rd time.
Fantastic array of coffee and superb cakes in a friendly atmosphere. Charlotte was a fantastic host during our visit, and we very much enjoyed making friends with the "cafe dog" socks.
As well as the more decadent options, there is a wide variety of healthy "gym friendly" treats and meals meaning this isnt just somewhere to visit for a glutenous bit of luxury.
Love this place , excellent service , excellent coffee, far too indulgent cakes ! Dog friendly and ours loves coming in for his pupaccino
