Overpriced and pure grease. Was not impressed with the fish… dry and very soggy. Spam fritter was black on the outside and battered sausage was limp and tasteless. Will not be returning.

We've used this take-away for a number of years now as the service and food has always been good. And we love their curry sauce. Unfortunately our latest order was disappointing in that the portion sizes of the chips seem to be slipping for what you pay. Two large chips were the same portion size as the small chips that came with a small piece of fish. Makes one feel a bit ripped off to be honest.
Food is always lovely but the portion sizes are not, you could ask for a small chips and a large chips and get maybe an added few. A large bag of chips does not feed a family of 3. Friendly staff though and food is always hot. Sausages taste weird sometimes but fish seems fresh and chips taste good. Not too expensive either.
I love fish and chips and have them as a treat every now and then. I have not lived in Hibaldstow long and when friends ask me if I like living there, I say "it's got a great chippy". The fish is cooked perfectly, just how I like it, in light fluffy batter and the chips are lovely - not greasy. The village is lucky to have a good chippy as they are hard to find these days.
