If you want the real seaside fish and chips experience go to Starvin Marvin's. Everything is cooked while you wait so comes piping hot. Tasty fish with crispy batter and at a fraction of the prices in the town. You also get the added bonus of being able to sit and eat your food overlooking the promenade, sea and pier. Lovely friendly staff too.
First tried the fish and chips here four years ago and I was delighted with the quality and taste of the food. Went again on Sunday and I wasn't disappointed. The chips were lovely and crispy and the fish was equally excellent and delicious. Highly recommended and a nice view of the sea whilst you eat
Not great.. bit of a shame. Probably fine the next time but lame this time.
Left my mate waiting in the ridiculously slow queue for another fish and chip place. These guy we very efficient and I had got my meal and finished it before my friends were even back. Sausage and chips was really nice. All the sauces (Free) you could ever want to try.
One point to note, like most places in Cromer they are cash only so next time I go back I'll have more than £5 in my wallet and try their Fish and Chips.
Brilliant service, fast, polite & friendly. Food was quickly cooked & really really nice. Kids meals £3, small portions but you couldn't ask for more for £3. Kids cleared the lot. Chips super crispy & "dry" not soggy & dripping in oil like some chip shops that shall remain nameless.
We got our food & we had finished before we would've even been served if we'd queued for nearby competitors.
Lovely seating area on the prom too watching the tourists take risks as the sea washed over the top of the slipway.
Will definitely be returning fish & chips for £6....
100% the WORST fish & chips I have ever had!!
Kids box meal = the smallest sausage that was soggy (even my 4yr old son wouldn't touch it / and he loves his food! Plus like 5 chips (literally)! I ordered a regular sausage and chips, the portion was exactly the same as the kids, yet it cost more.
My partners fish tasted as if it came out of a freezer - clearly was not fresh.
Starvin Marvin? Should be called you will still be Starvin after! Portions were rediculous for the price! £24 for 2 adults and 2 small children! Yet portions were that small we all ended up having to get another meal. Waste of money.
Also like to add how rude the owner and staff are. The owner is extremely rude. Someone asked if they took card, which the owner responded no. Fair enough, I noticed the sign when we turned up and luckily we had cash. However, absolutely mortified how the owner and female staff were laughing and literally taking the mick out of the poor bloke that only asked if they took card! Why? Does it make you feel good to say how stupid people are that ask a question when there's a sign! Appalling!!
Easily the best fish and chips we’ve ever had...beats Galton’s No.1 up the ramp.
Very highly recommended.
Really friendly staff, great service.
Fantastic service. Food was brilliant. Simple the best crispiest fish I have tasted. Would eat there more if I lived closer.
