The cafe wasn't full but we still had to wait over 10 minutes for our coffee. The staff are all young and maybe that explains to a degree why they are so slow. One girl was quite energetic but the rest were not really caring about real customer service.
The coffee was terrible!!! We both agreed that it wasn't the usual Starbucks standard as it was extremely bitter. The toasted croissant was very nice but two pats of butter is over the top. Anyway, I feel sorry for the staff for this kind of review but it seemed that they were missing a good manager.
Every table is dirty. We stayed 30 mins. No one washed any table during that time. This is just plain dirty. You sell food and drinks. Cleaning is a basic part of the service you are providing.
Every single table was filthy! Food and rubbish everywhere! Toilets dirty and no toilet roll. Bins overflowing. Absolutely disgusting!
Disgusting place, food expensive, coffee far to strong and lazy staff. I don't usually go to Starbucks but only place available. We got a coffee yuk and went to the garage for our food.
Popham services is located along the A303 and in my opinion, this slip road to access the entrance is a short one. Unless you researched it or already know about it, you can easily miss it or over shoot the turning causing a hazard for you and everyone else. There a Starbucks with a reasonable selection of products and can seat in to enjoy what you have spent your money on. Style stays true to Starbucks but price and selection match the location plus the needs to only provide the services and products that only gets people through the door. Less likely to get a high repeat customers compared to the branches in town centres. Meaning that personal touch can be a hit and miss
WESTBOUND
I had to write this review to say that the lad working on 13/1/24 around 13.50-14.00 made the best chai latte I’ve ever had in a Starbucks, which is a lot of chai!!!! He was absolutely lovely, friendly, fun and genuinely happy to be there. An absolute sweetheart. Thank you to him for making my Starbucks experience, on a particularly hard day a very positive one!!!
It's a great place to stop on a road trip. The place has plenty of space and the staff are always friendly. Much easier than some of the larger stops.
