I only purchased a Doppio (Double) Espresso, the service was fairly quick and courteous. Seating was readily available, comfortable, and with free wifi and sockets for charging devices.
The espresso itself really was not bad, tasted like a darker roast with a relatively mild flavour and a nice crema. The negatives are that the coffee is oddly bitter, nothing overwhelming but its not pleasant either; the coffee lacks aroma, it has flavour but no subtle notes to make a it a good coffee.
The main reason as to why I’m giving it 2 stars is the absurd price: £3.00 for a double espresso is comically expensive, especially for Bedford where you can get much better coffee for a lower price. Oh and you get a cheap and disposable wooden spoon, which taints the flavour of the coffee, any other café would give a metal spoon.
Another problem is that the public wifi does not permit devices to use a DNS, which is a bit shady and poses inconvenience and security concerns.
Also, please correct if im wrong but i believe there is a black mildew/mould/damp on the ceiling, not the decor i expected from Starbucks
Finally we have a Starbucks in the Bedford Town centre. Although we have a lot of coffee shops, I personally did want a Starbucks (and not just at the train station).
First visit was a bit problematic, they forgot to put the toppings on my drink, they ran out of lids and they forgot to give us the food that we ordered so had to go back up and ask for it.
Other than that the staff were friendly and the place looks great. The drinks were a lot nicer than Costa's. Once they're over the teething problems of opening a new location I'm sure it will be better.

The staff were very friendly and helpful but the cappuccino coffee we had was served in a paper cup as the dishwasher had broken down and was quite weak and it was quite cold sitting in the café as it is open to the Harpir Centre.
Quick and efficient service. Lovely free taster coffee too.
