I have used this chippy for over 5 years.. It is always fresh and the customer service is absolutely brilliant. The fish is always fresh and the gravy is a dream. The only thing I would suggest is the selling of condiments like tartare sauce and ketchup etc. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a good quality fish and chips.
These have by far the best gravy and curry sauce in Preston .. it's thick and full of flavour, the chips are always good and it's very popular with the locals, I would recommend their chicken curry!
Was my fave Chip shop, until recently, the chips look more like fries. The thick chips were better. Fish is tasty and soft, reasonably priced. The curry sauce is ????
Absolutely shocking portions of food. The chips weren't even chips and the gravy had loads of lumps in it! Never ordering from there again!
Worm found in cod. Unfortunately whilst dining at this little fish and chip shop inside St George's Shopping Centre this afternoon my friend found a parasite worm in her cod fish. I am 9 months pregnant and was absolutely mortified at what I was seeing. When my friend took the worm to show the gentleman serving, he explained it's quite common for cod's to digest worm larvae on the sea floor and these larvae turn into worms. He went on to explain he checks the fish before frying them but he missed this one. Of course we were not going to finish our meals and luckily neither of us had eaten much of our individual fish before the worm was discovered. When my friend requested a refund for our meals he only reimbursed us for one of the meals. Which I genuinely found very upsetting as I was not about to take a risk and eat my meal and left most of it untouched. A nicer gesture would have been to refund us both, considering how we both chose not to finish our meals and we also tried to complain quietly without bringing the rest of the diner's attention to the situation. I was quite upset so did not argue even though it was me who had paid for both of the meals. I don't like leaving negative reviews but I feel it is necessary due to the circumstances. I hope Oceans do not make this error again.
Best chippy around..and the Chinese is probably the best I have had in Preston.. so glad it reopened. Thanks St George's chippy :)
