A sweet shop that serves its purpose and bought a few boxes of favourite Southwald shortbread and fudge. The biscuits were stale in both boxes. Awful. Needs a slight revamp and cleanup. Went through for breakfast. Poor quality ingredients, sausages awful. The toast hard and obviously the cheapest low quality bread. Tomatoes not cooked. I'll stop there . A little change is all they need. Lovely staff.
2021.Traditional homely tasty, hot and cold food, lovely welcoming staff, variations of the food on menu possible it would seem. Wish I had found this place sooner in my holiday. Going back again for sure!
2022.Another holiday and this place was on our itinerary. Excellent, properly hot good food. Not sure I want to eat for the rest of the day ????
A fantastic place to eat. Old fashioned in that the food is tasty and wholesome, the service is friendly and is excellent value.
And the sweet shop part is amazingly nostalgic.
It should not be missed by anyone.
We always aim to visit the sweet shop in Southwold and for a long time this one was always the one. Now as an adult it's great as there is loads of selection (sweets and chocolate) but as we found with our kids... as a small child you can't really see more than what's in the cabinets at the front. On our trip in recently we had also planned to have something in the cafe but unfortunatly despite it being a Saturday it was closed.
Still, if your passing its still worth a look (unless you don't like sweets I guess!!)
Delightful cafe through the confectionery shop, mouth-watering, lovely staff. And dog-friendly.
Always visit when I'm in the area.
What a lovely place it's like stepping back in time to the era of tea rooms we had cream teas but they do a full selection of hot and cold meals to suit any taste it comfortable and welcoming with polite and friendly staff it also has the bonus of a oldstyle sweetshop attached with a huge selection of sweets in large jars every time we visit Southwold we make a point of dropping in I have no hesitation in recommending this unique establishment.
Good old fashion cooking .Had cottage pie plenty of nice vegetables .nice deserts to finish off all home made .All ways make my way there when on holiday at Norfolk staff very friendly
Cafe staff are lovely, woman in the sweet shop where you pay is so rude. Also bought fudge after the tea room got home ate some thought tasted funny then to realise it’s out of date! Partner bought some sweets as didn’t want anything from tea room and was told by this woman he wasn’t allowed to consume them? Even though I had spent £13 on mine and my daughters tea and scones.
