Visited Square Deal last week had not been there for many years. It was a lovely breakfast, tasty, lots of it and not greasy - had the mega with black pudding and good old fried bread ???? Place was lovely and clean. Staff friendly very helpful and accommodating, they allowed me to swap hash browns for black pudding. I'm local and will definitely be going back. If you're travelling down the A404 well worth the 10 min detore down the A4. Easy access huge carpark so great for large vehicles and trailers - caravans, motorhomes etc. As caravaners we would be over the moon to find a place like this on our holiday travels. Not many places like this around anymore.
The team here are absolutely fantastic. Its the best local cafe we have, hands down!
Great company, even if you're eating alone
There are not many transport cafes/cafes of this type still around. My only criticism is the "Create your own breakfast" menu is tucked down to the left, I didn't see it until after I ordered from the main menu at the top!
Regular customers will know it's there, occasional customers like me are likely to miss it!
Smashing breakfast at this place. Same sort of price as most cafes these days but proper sausages and everything cooked well.
Only thing to let it down is the cheap and nasty brown sauce. Get the HP in!

Best fry-up in the area! I found this gem of a café while passing on the A4 and now I come out of my way every week for a good breakfast. There's also a great selection of traditional simple lunches like jacket potatoes or ham, egg & chips. It's a lovely family-run place with excellent service. There are some fab walks around the back of the café so it's worth making a day of it. Make the trip if you're missing the proper old-fashioned fry-up...

We have been coming here for many years (formally known as the Square Deal Cafe) and we love the current menu.
Flic's is simple truck stop cafe with a solid breakfast menu that can be easily adapted to suit your tastes. As you can see from the photo the food is well cooked and presented and the staff are friendly and helpful.
Pop in here every now and then, quick service and reasonable food, gets busy about 10am, but thats to be expected, a far and few between proper greasy spoon cafe, I like it. ????????
