I'm pretty sure this is a one-off but I was really disappointed with my fish and chips. For the money I paid I would have expected a larger fish, and it was very dry.
My daughter was with me, she had the fish goujons which looked so much nicer.
The staff were friendly enough so I should really have brought it to their attention, sadly we didn't have time to wait.
Staff rude and don’t want to know. Got a food order wrong and then threw together the correct order in a bowl and were not apologetic. Do not recommend going with babies or large group with children as they were not accommodating and made new mums feel unwelcome.
Very disappointed. We were celebrating our granddaughters only 3 , birthday and we wasn’t allowed to cut the cake and the food very overpriced. The young girl was serving I asked her for another Coffee she said she was serving another table. Definitely won’t be going back with my family.
Another amazing meal at spuds and berries, best breakfast around by far, beautiful food great service and lovely atmosphere (Stornoway Black pudding is another level )
Came across Spuds & Berries while on a trip to Howden. Must say will be going again. The food & drinks came via very friendly staff with very good portion size. Even on a Monday lunchtime it was very full which says how good it is. There is also a well stocked farmshop & a bookable secure dog field. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
I was given a £30 voucher from a relative at Christmas. My husband and I went there for lunch this week. We both ordered Haddock and chips. I had water to drink and my husband wanted orange squash.
The chips were absolutely dripping in oil and were very dark brown, some were black. The fish was inedible. Mine was a very thin tail end of fish with such hard batter one had to stab at it several times to even see the fish which was practically non existent anyway.
Without a doubt this was the worst fish and chips we have ever had anywhere in this country! The squash was so watered down there was no flavour in it at all. When we complained the waitress was not at all apologetic.
Will NEVER go there again! We paid £29 for a rubbish meal
Excellent place, staff are very attentive and helpful as I have a dietary issue which they were very understanding about and didn't make me feel uncomfortable at all.
The food is excellent and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.
They have a wonderful farm shop at the side and sell yummy fresh cakes, pies meats and lots of pickles etc.
Really worth a visit.
Really enjoyed our lunch here. The quiche was fantastic as was the platter. Will definitely be coming back to try more from the menu.
The farm shop had plenty of great fresh veg as well as meats, cheeses, sauces and wines and beers.
