Absolutely fuming. Got our first delivery from here. We thought we might as well try a new takeaway for once. Worst decision ever. Received Saag paneer, which looks like Saag with definitely no paneer and no taste of cheese. Called up. The guy tried to argue that any cheese is paneer and the cheese they put in is melted and that's how he always makes it. Being Indian I know how pathetic that is. The very definition of paneer is hard non-melting cheese. He didn't even apologise, took my contact no and said the driver will call me soon. Driver turned out to be the manager, who had another argument with me over the technicalities and said specifically that I only know because I'm Asian and its okay to sell it to other people as they don't know. He said I can go ahead complain, truly sounded like he was taking this as a joke despite misselling and making a real joke out of it when someone complains. I absolutely hate making issue out of products unless I have to as I've always worked in customer service and feel the pain but these people are beyond measurable. Horrible horrible customer service.
The food was absolutely delicious; we ordered a range of starters and the chef specials. You can really tell the difference in taste in comparison to some other local takeaways and how authentic their food is. The staff were friendly and were able to accommodate to my families dietary needs and the service was excellent. Food is always on time!
I was unsure of Spice Kitchen when I first ordered, but after the food arrived, I was completely dumbstruck. In all honesty, the chicken korma was the best I have ever had. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. The manager was soo polite, he personally made sure we had a fantastic time. I would recommend this shop to every single person. I'm lost for words on how to describe the beauty of the manager. Spice Kitchen is a must eat!!
Unexpected weird entrance but never judge anything by its look. Food and service was amazing! Fresh, spicy and aromatic flavours! I would highly recommend friends and family for a fresh Indian takeaway. Variety of options from the menu. Will be coming back:)
I ordered a takeaway tonight, asked amongst other things a chicken tikka biriany ,I searched for the chicken, put it to one side ,it came to tiny bits that couldn't fill a spoon ,I phoned and complained the manager came and delivered another ,I opened it in front of him ,to his surprise (apparently) their was no chicken he took a photo of the dish and left ,my rating for this restaurant is absolutely minus 10
First time using this Indian I couldn't fault it, the food was delicious and hot it came on time & at very reasonable price will definitely be back for more!
I don’t normally leave reviews but after this disgusting experience I feel compelled too. Having been a fan of this Indian for a long time now. They have the best Indian food in Stevenage. Collecting the food this evening, what I witnessed left me gobsmacked. One of the cooks (with his back to me) making sheek kebab dropped a lump of the meat on the floor, whilst watching him to see what he was going to do with it I could see that he was trying to see if I was watching. He then had the audacity to just casually pick it up and put it back on the skewer. When I asked are you seriously going to do that he said “I haven’t I have put it in the container” then continued to try and deny it. Needless to say I walked out. It cost them nearly £30 and a customer. Phoned after to complain to the manager owner who was apologetic.
This sort of thing probably happens all the time in takeaway joints but that fact that it was done right in front of me frankly takes the p**s
Order was completely incorrect and they refuse to answer the phone, it is now not even ringing now, they could be busy dealing with other customers, but it almost seems like the phone is off the hook, tried periodically to call every 5 minutes and its never once rang, The order is also not even close to the amount I had actually paid for, i am about £20 short, I will continue to call after this post, but i think they know the number so its not going to happen. Customer service extremely poor, would not recommend, Just as an added bonus the food was not even warm
