Nice place for a walk with the dog and partner, enjoyed the trails, parking let it down as there really isn't many spaces, possibly 15 cars, so get here early if you want to park
Beautiful place with nice views , perfect place for walk and relax just car park is a bit small
Magical woodland and stream! Small car park which merges directly onto a busy road so you need to keep dogs on leads and children close as you get out of your vehicle. Once in the woods it's another world, so beautiful! Very muddy in parts at this time of year and some tree felling going on, also evidence of several bonfires despite the signs. It's a no BBQ or fire area for obvious reasons
Wow did not expect that. This place is enormous and just goes on forever. We walked in the woodland part which is just breathtaking, especially the views from the top. The ground is so squishy under your feet and there's beautiful moss everywhere. You can also see streams just running down some bigger than others which adds to the character of this place. We didn't walk everywhere as it started to get a bit dark but we're definitely going back in the next week or so. Please be mindful that some of the adjacent fields have sheepies on so keep any bubbly doggies under close control. ???? There's also a free parking right in front and few smaller parking places on the side of the road ???? bonus!! ????
Great place to find some peace.
Many dirt paths around and pretty well maintained. Saw a few mountain bikers, don’t know if there are trails near but it looks a blast. I only stopped off for a wild camp. Near by derwent and ladybower are great too
Beautiful place for a walk out, all year round
For those who enjoy nature it is the ideal place, rivers, mountains, forests full of beauty and biodiversity, we chose a trail in the AllTrails app, we downloaded the map and that way we navigated using the gps even without a cell phone signal, the trails are not very well marked and it was essential to access the map.
The path has incredible beauty, it is very clean and you will find few people on the trails.
Undoubtedly a place with breathtaking natural beauties.
Came back here recently because I remember how beautiful it was.
Unfortunately they have started to cut down a lot of the trees to try and prevent the spread of a disease so it's really lost a bit of that magic - there was heavy machinery cutting them down while I was walking. A shame. Hope they can save some of the forest.
