I can't believe some of the negative reviews on here. The small fry is a little gem. I had my first ever kebab from there over 40 yrs ago and have been going back since. The donner kebabs may not be the biggest, but the flavour of the homemade donner meat, is out of this world. It's the best tasting donner in Cambridge, for sure. The ribs are also something special. They're really meaty and that sweet smokey sauce is lush. They really are to die for. Someone mentioned grumpy owners shouting at staff. I find that hard to believe. Harry and his wife, and the lady that works there all the time, are really nice. They are just normal people, that have been doing the same job, providing us with Cambridge's best tasting donner, for over 40 yrs. I'm sure we've all had off days in that time. And the place is not dirty, with bits of food laying around, at all. The building is tired, yes. But that doesn't make it dirty. I've always felt it's clean and hygienic. It will be a shame if and when Harry retires and we lose the best ribs and donner in Cambridge.
I went and collected a big meal for my family a few days ago, lovely lady was very patient with the big order, however the amount of dirt and uncleanliness that was everywhere, was really bad. They have big place where they deep fry the fish, etc, and there was so much dirt and what looked like old fish pieces around the place. The chips they deep fry where kept in a metal container with mesh holes, on top of another bucket that was on the floor, which is really unhygienic, and to top it off one of my family members got food poisoning, and was really ill. All in all the food tasted good but as a germaphobe I really didn’t like the atmosphere.
Best kebabs in cambridge and burgers been in here since a little boy and always never failed to put a smile on my face and carol nina and harry are my 3 favourites always have a good conversation when in there and great service quick and a very good value would highly recommend this place like i said best kebab in cambridge no one can beat it
This is the best marinated chicken in a kebab in Cambridge. Their homemade chilli sauce is outstanding. You need to buy a pot of it and a pot of garlic Mayo also their perfect spicy potatoes. A great dinner for Saturday night.

I regularly visit Harry, Carol and Nina in Small Fry and I can truly say from the bottom of my heart that it is The BEST in Chesterton. His Kebabs are homemade and full of flavour. His chicken is out of this world the same as the burgers they are lovely. Its a friendly amstophere when you go in. A proper home from home. It's a proper go to place.
Haven’t been to small fry for 20 odd years and decided to go after a friend bragged about there food. I ordered 2 kebabs and fish & chips. Was absolutely blown away and forgot that kebabs were soo tasty. I’m never going to kebab vans again. Small fry are the best around. Thank you for restoring my faith back. Defo a regular customer, worth the millage. ????
I have known about this Gem of fish and chip shop for years
know-one seems to cook chips like them I know it depends on the season. There food is very yummy and they are friendly
