Liked: Everything about this place was amazing I traveled for a boys weekend in my motorhome for some fishing and a nice break and that is exactly what we got, we asked for a pitch by the lake and they gave us the most beautiful spot on the site and the staff in the pub were very friendly and very welcoming and you could have a great friendly chat with them.
Disliked: Not much to dislike about the place at all but the owners did say that the toilet and shower facilities were being upgraded as we speak but what they had was quite adequate for the weekend for us what more do you want you are on a campsite lol . I really don’t understand picky people , we will definitely be returning to this lovely place and the lake is well stocked as we are not professionals just like a go at fishing and we caught around 40 fish between us.
Liked: Booked a pitch for 2 days in our motorhome. Easy to book, texts from staff were helpful and informative when booking. Nothing was too much trouble. Although next to a train line, the noise was not intrusive, it is a nice peaceful site. Hedges around the pitches were nicely maintained.
Delighted that there was live entertainment on the Saturday night, the excellent Cardee. Pub is great, plenty of choice. No food but able to order takeaway for delivery to site. Again the staff were helpful and welcoming.
There's fishing on site (although the weather was awful so we will need to go back to try it ????). Well worth a visit, would highly recommend.
Liked: The site was nice and spacious. The pond is in the middle and has a fence around half.
The staff at the pub very friendly and welcoming. The pub is dog friendly with an open fire. The care taker was friendly and helpful.
Our little one loved seeing the trains as they passed.
Disliked: The wash room needs some TLC.
It doesn't say in the site that you pay for electric separate so it wad a bit of a surprise to then have to pay on top.
Liked: We visit this site often and we love the little fishing pond, and the fact that there is a pub on site... the toilets are kept nice and clean and the staff are always friendly.
Disliked: This particular time we stayed, there was alot of noise from another tent... I'm talking 2.30am in the morning, yelling and screaming and partying, we have a little baby so it's the last thing we want on a chilled weekend away.
I think they should have been told to keep it down by the owners, its really not fair on other campers.
Also, if the pub did food, that would be amazing
Liked: Low price. Easy to find. Quick to check in. Friendly staff. Good beer. Pub couldn't be closer.
Disliked: Toilet block clean but needs much refurbishment - rather dilapidated.
Hard standing has round stones so tend to move and sink.
Liked: Busy village pub with live entertainment.
Clean and spacious shower block and toilets.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Dog friendly.
If using this site you should note that no food served at pub, however, the staff compensated for this by providing take-away menus to order food which was delivered to the pub and then plates and cutlery were provided for us to eat our meals in the pub.
Disliked: I would have preferred a set charge for electric hook-up - that would be simpler but the site uses cards which you load with an amount and then claim a refund at the end of your stay.
Liked: Well-spaced, level pitches with EHU available.
Toilet/shower facilities very clean.
Reasonably priced
Nice to be able to have a couple of pints at the pub with no need to travel.
Disliked: Nothing much of interest in the immediate area.
Liked: Staff helpful, toilets and showers although quite dated we're cleaned on a daily basis.
Disliked: After nipping off the site we were saddened to find that on our return our hook up cable had been stolen....this was reported to a member of staff who did go and ask the long stay caravaners if they had seen anything, we were given one of their spare cables, but that's not the point. There was another tourer two pitches away from us that had gone along with our cable when we returned....they gave been approached but know nothing!!!!!!! At first we presumed that someone may have thought we had forgotten it and handed it in.....feeling very disappointed........
