Nice for a stroll with the dog. The beach is partly firm sand (which makes it fairly easy to walk on if, like me, you have a mobility problem and use a stick) and partly shingle. The last time I went it very windy and the sea had lovely high waves crashing onto the beach.
My little Chihuahua loves her walks there.
There is a cafe there as well as a pay car park. There is very limited on street parking available.
First time here and what a great place for walking. Sand and shingle and plenty of space to walk the dog. We parked in the large car park and paid £1.00 for 2hrs, bargain. Lovely cafe and great sausage bap and cup of tea, what more do you want.
The sea & shingled beach on one side with sound of sea on shingle, combined with the ominous hum of the nuclear power stations on the other side as you walk along the wide & easy ‘path’ (or on the slight dunes) between them is an experience of ‘The Nuclear Age’ that I find interesting. Great safe place to walk my dogs too...Good cafe, car park & pub all nearby!
Beautiful beach, very quiet and peaceful. Perfect place for a long family walk.
Nice expanse beach full of atmosphere especially with the backdrop of the power station. The cafe does a good range of hot and cold drinks. There are also hot rolls, burgers and sandwiches. Plenty of parking too.
Lovely beach, never packed with people. Okay, so you do run the risk of radiation poisoning, but a short course of iodine is really all that is necessary......
That's a lie. It's safe there and the beach is mostly a shingle, dogs are welcome. Car park that is cheap, little hut that sells food and drinks next to the car park. Nice walks up and down. You really could spend your day here and have plenty to be getting on with!
Will definitely go back as we had a lovely time!
Lovely walk along this shingle beach, with views of Sizewell B nuclear power station. Amazing to think you are so close to the most powerful form of possible annihilation known to man ????
A pretty and almost empty shingle and sand beach. lots of seabirds and a seal or two, if you're lucky!
