We visited Bude for the weekend and wanted a Chinese takeaway. After doing a bit of research and reading some reviews, we decided on this one.
The shop was busy, so we thought it was a good sign.
Our order : chips, chicken chow mein, chicken and duck rice, chicken balls, and bbq sauce
Food :
chips and bbq sauce were very nice.
BBQ sauce was full of flavour. Chips were plentiful, fluffy, and crispy.
Chow mein was very bland with a LOT of onion and hardly any chicken. Quite tasteless and was Dissapointed.
Rice - good portion of chicken and duck meat. Again, the rice was bland but it did have more flavour than the chow mein.
Chicken balls. - chicken pieces were tiny inside a very doughy batter. Not much flavour again, and some were very chewy.
I don't think I would use this Chinese again.
Excellent take away whilst on holiday in Bude.
Cash only. We ordered meat pancake rolls, King Prawn Chow Mein, Chicken Kung Po with Boiled Rice.
Delicious food, which was prepared really quickly. Only gripe is that the meat pancake rolls weren't as generously filled with meat as I'm used to at my local takeaway.
Otherwise on point for taste and restaurant quality food.
Will be back when I'm next in Bude.
A local told us not to eat there but went anyway as we fancied Chinese. Salt and pepper ribs were more like leather attached to gristle. The egg fried rice may be radioactive given the colour. The pork balls contained a meat of dubious origin. All round it was generally edible but uninspiring and not really worth the money.
Service was lovely but ordered chicken balls chips and a curry sauce, the the chicken was cooked fine but the batter was severely undercooked curry sauce was very oily and chips were also undercooked

Cash only, we all know why businesses are cash only in this day and age! Usually boycott businesses like this but my family wanted Chinese food on their holiday. Food was ok to be fair but I'd use a different restaurant for our takeaway meals when in Bude next as all Chinese takeaways seem to be cash only.
