Nipped in for a spot of lunch after over a 20+ year absence. What a change to the old place! Great food, cracking outdoor area by the side of the river and really friendly staff Try the hot beef sarnie if you are hungry. Worth a visit
Recently under new ownership the Shoulder of Mutton offers nice food and four real ales from brewers in Yorkshire, Lancashire, London and Devon.
The only downside was fairly poor customer service from the young bar staff, had to repeat three times my food order and after a wait of 35 minutes we were told a table of 18 had ordered food, hence the delay, would have been nice to know that at the point of ordering.
Held my dads wake here the staff were amazing couldn’t do enough to help. We had pie and peas which were beautiful definitely recommend 10/10
The new decorations have really spruced up the place. I had the hunter chicken which a new addition to the menu and my friend had a steak both were delicious (and huge). The staff were helpful and friendly. Everything is well priced in a lovely relaxing atmosphere
Popped in this evening for my tea, had the bacon cheese burger which was absolutely phenomenal, followed down by their chocolate brownie which was also very nice, 1 too many pints of cidre and all for a very reasonable price. The bloke behind the bar was very friendly and the ambience of the whole venue was extremely pleasant (hence the extra pint) would definitely recommend my new local!
Really nicely decorated pub, staff couldn't do enough to help and the grub/ drink selection was all solid and well priced. Exactly what you'd expect from a traditional pub.
Visited recently on a trip out was recommended to us by staff of local small supermarket,we had a great time an lovely food,bar staff and locals so friendly nice surroundings an lovely beer garden this pub is how all should be , thanks for great evening will be back ????
I’m sat here still in the shoulder of mutton in Mytholmroyd writing this review because of how impressed I am! The cheese and onion pie is fantastic! Home made chips with it. Enjoying it so much thank you very much! Good value also! Good portions????
