Lovely service. And the chips are to die for!!! They are gluten free. But not much more GF choice. Nice wine. Snug inside. Plenty of space. Outside is nice on a warm day. Nice loos. Went round the back to view the river Arun and spotted a seal.
So glad this pub has a new landlord and landlady . What a massive difference they have made in such a short time. Food is excellent, good beer, friendly staff, dog friendly, live bands, a really friendly atmosphere, we only live down the road in Yapton so this place is now our local, a proper local pub. There is also a great camping site situated next to the river arun..What more could you want
Visited the Crown and Anchor near Ford just South of Arundel today. It was lunchtime and we both opted for the prawn sandwiches and cheesy chips as a lunchtime snack. We were delighted with the food that arrived quickly , beautifully presented with a side salad and salad dressing. Delicious moist sandwiches made with care and pride. Sam ,Amy and Stewart were our hosts, thank you all for your warm hospitality and an excellent and very reasonably priced meal, I will return soon for the same again .
Not that much has changed inside since the new tenants have taken over. They do open longer hours now and have special evenings including music, quizzes etc.
We had a lovely meal today to celebrate mother's day and a complimentary glass of fizz, it was so nice. Service excellent, very friendly waiting staff.
We will return again.
Plus plus dog friendly. And they made a fuss of him.
Good luck for the future xx
Had dinner off the specials board which was pork belly, this is the worst lump of meat I have ever been served, not tender or crispy and grissel though most of meat which was ineditable. My other two guest had fish pie which they enjoyed so guess I just lucked out. Service was good and the pub has a nice atmosphere with good selection of beer and ale.
Really happy we stumbled across this lovely little pub after a trip to Arundel Castle. We were greeted by two lovely Scottish ladies who made you feel right at home, the food was excellent, proper homemade grub. The steak in the pie was melt in the mouth and the pate was lovely. Lovely lady behind the bar was baking a cake to put in the bottom of a homemade trifle, I was very impressed with this, just shame we were to full to try a pud!
Great little pub. Home cooked food and well kept beer. We stopped in on a walk from Littlehampton to Arundel on a very hot day and received a great welcome from the lovely landlady who insisted all the lads had a glass of water before serving us the ales ???? This is how all pubs should be.
We been a couple of time since new management, A much better welcome then before, staff were friendly as are the new managers, we had our first meal on Saturday, the food was fantastic the ingredients were fresh and well prepared, of course we be back ????
