I just wanted to share my recent amazing experience with the maternity unit.
We started our birthing journey in the birthing centre, but was unable to stay there, due to the baby needing to be monitored.
So we went through to triage, the early labour ward, delivery suite, theatre & labour ward. Literally experiencing all aspects of the maternity unit.
The care we received from every aspect, was exceptional, each member of staff went above and beyond our expectations. A special thanks to Della, who ensured we were comfortable at all times & who ensured our baby arrived safely!
Key things on why I would recommend Preston..
-The option to use the birthing suite, with doctors available if needed
-The facilities
-The fact your partner can stay on the ward with you
-The staff!
Thankyou so much

My daughter went to see the midwifes last week just to be told her baby was brain dead and basically sent her to Sheffield just to find there was nothing wrong with her son she has 6 weeks and hopefully will be good. Midwifes need to sort the staff out we have been stressed out over this. They need to do the job propley the stress that she has cause for a 1st mum is outrage . I'm gonna be taking it further. She said she has been in the job 30 yrs and she knows nothing more like e0 mins get the facts right before upsetting families
Only one complaint/improvement...
For the benefit of your future "customers" please can you have "Maternity - Sharoe Green Unit" on all signage.
We couldn't find they place when we needed it.
Sign are primarily for the benefit of people who are new and unfamiliar with a place.
Most people who need the signs are unlikely to connect "Sharoe Green Unit" terminology with Maternity.
Looking for Maternity beginning with an "S" makes NO sense.
Maternity ward A the widwives and staff are complete scum, left my wife the entire 5 days in there and treated me like a second class citizen. Honestly these people are not peoples people and they hate babies so don't go here, avoid it if you're pregnant and find some other friendlier place to enjoy childbirth and becoming a father and mother because this place will destroy that magic.
Was transferred from burnley to Preston as there was no neo natal beds. All the staff have been lovely especially midwife Tracy Whalley she went above and beyond. Kept me calm and made me feel so much better. Can't thank her enough. Will definitely miss her! Thankyou once again.
An utter horrid ward to have a baby the midwife’s are nothing but rude, if you are unfortunate to get induced you get left there for up to a week even with a blood pressure at 180, all the staff sit at a desk laughing and talking behind yours backs nor a friendly environment at all.
Great experience and the staff ware amazing too my daughter the NHS I thank you
Me and my partner can't thank the midwifes and nurses enough for what they did for us and our son that was born sleeping at 16+4 weeks. They went above and beyond for us and the companion they have is outstanding. These are genuine people that care about their patients and make the hardest time of your lifes as easy for you as they can. words dont cover the gratitude i have for these women, thank you so muchxx
