Fair amount of food, fresh products. I found some of the dishes a bit lack of salt others really good, nice vegetarian spring rolls. Duck and chicken very tasty although little amount of meat and mostly fruits and veggies. Prices are average.
Placed an order through Just Eat and the restaurant confirmed the order so was looking forward to my food. When I checked later the order had been cancelled - no explanation. I don't know if you had a genuine reason or you just couldn't be bothered but as you didn't communicate with me you get one star.
We have been using this takeaway for 10 years now and have had no regrets. They are very understanding of my wife's food intolerance.
Normally I pick up the order myself but as I recently had a stroke I asked if they could deliver but I was worried that we wouldn't get it until about 630 and we are early eaters. They got the chef in early and delivered it at 5pm so really pleased with the service.
The best Chinese food I have tried in a long time. The owners are very friendly and the price is good.
Very polite servers, quick. Every portion of food is delicious and is sensational. Very funny and nice people work there. I enjoy every take away I receive from these nice People. Hower the chicken balls are a bit greasy for my like, they succeed in every other dish. :)
Very disappointed with my orders. This is the second time they messed up my food. Two years back they sent me pork Tom yum soup when I clearly said no pork in my food. Today I order clear Tom yum soup, Kung po chicken, king prawn fried rice all extremely spicy. They delivered mild food, thick creamy soup, instead of Kung po chicken, I was given sweet and sour chicken. We couldn't eat. When I called, the lady was arguing that the tomyum soup is thick. Then why it was not mentioned when I ordered? Food was horrible. No eggs at all in egg fried rice. I normally don't write bad reviews at all as it's someone's business but this place is worst food. Being a Malaysian and so used to authentic Chinese food, I wouldn't recommend this place to even my enemy. Very cheap quality food. I had to give one star as it wouldn't allow me to post my review without a star
Oh dear,
Have eaten here many times before and it's been good.
But tonight was our wedding anniversary so we decided to splash out on a really nice Chinese.
£50.00 for two and it was pants,
Chewy beef, soggy battered prawns, runny satay sauce which was like soup.
Salt squid which was soggy and tasteless such a shame won't be wasting my money here again.
Prawn crackers and fortune cookies good, other wise it would have been two stars.
A very friendly, local to Downley Chinese Takeaway. Their customer service is second to none.
