What a wonderful little restaurant! Loved every minute. The (Disney-dreaming) owner and her staff were very caring and attentive, and we were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. We booked the traditional afternoon tea (pic attached) - The sandwiches were cut into Disney themed shapes. How cute! Will definitely go again.
Groupon Deal - Unicorn Afternoon Tea
The staff where friendly. The owner was very kind to accommodate my needs. Changed the sandwich type and changed the milkshake flavour which usually on a set menu you do not get a choice to do this. The unicorn cake was very tasty and i really enjoyed the milkshake. Very quirky little place worth a visit especially if you have kids.
Really poor and overall just an odd experience. No greeting from any staff and they didn't seem in any hurry to serve us even though it was very quiet and there were three members of staff around. The food was okay except the cake which was stodgy and burnt on the outside. Such a shame because the idea of unicorn afternoon tea has so much potential but the complete lack of enthusiasm and charisma of the staff really let the place down.
Groupon traditional afternoon tea on Saturday 9th June. Had a lovely time bubbly staff lovely sandwiches - how cute are the shapes tea cups and tea pots! Followed by scone and jam and then a huge wedge of Victoria sponge it was all really lovely and a good experience. And if that wasn't enough one of the customers was Mel B's sister!
Shocking. Went in for traditional afternoon tea which was booked a month in advance. When we arrived we had no table and staff said there was no booking for us but clearly it said on my voucher the date as i had wrote it down. There was no apologys from staff and said we couldnt change the date now or if we did couldnt guarantee we could redeem the voucher. Said that we could wait and they would fit us in. After 1 hour and 10 minutes no contact from staff not even a cup of tea while we waited. We were completely ignored. On hearing others around us had problems with their bookings. Really upsetting as was booked for a birthday and was having a mum and daughter day. Will not be returning again unfortunately due to ignorance of staff.
Oh dear. Went for afternoon tea. Basic sandwich selection on cheap thin sliced bread. Grated cheap cheddar cheese/cucumber (really)/ham. Once slice of cake with artificial saccharin cream. Cheap mass bought scone served with butter not clotted cream. Got this on Groupon offer and overpaid x4. As nice as the owner is, she hasn't got a clue
Massive disappointment. A pot of tea 3 small sandwiches 1 small dry scone with butter and cheap jam no cream and a tiny slice of very dry victoria sponge does not make an appetizing afternoon tea . An additional person came with us and they were told no food or milkshakes available to order. Not at all as advertised and even with groupon offer overpriced.
Am absolutely gobsmacked... I booked for my granddaughters birthday today for unicorn afternoon tea with my lovely family including my mum and my daughter and 1 year old granddaughter. I booked for 1pm with Groupon costing £40. Unfortunately the traffic was really bad for my daughter and she arrived at quarter past. I was there in time in fact ten mins early waiting outside. When I went to the counter I was completely ignored for at least 5 minutes. I then explained politely that my daughter was running a little late. A very rude and ignorant woman appeared and muttered under her breath with her back to me then rudely snapped at me that she could only hold the table until quarter past. We apologised for the lateness once again and I explained politely that she had a baby and it is difficult to keep to time. I was told very rudely that I would have to leave at 1pm which I accepted although there was only one other table with customers. The rest of the cafe was empty. Another very lovely guest came and apologised for the lateness also due to same traffic. She was very polite and said it would have been nice to have known it was just an hour slot when booked. I turned and agreed politely with her. When my family arrived ..my excited granddaughter all dressed in unicorn regalia...she told us in no uncertain terms that because i had been rude (?) she was now refusing us the table and asked us all to leave immediately. I reminded her that she has said we could stay but leave at 1pm. She then told me that she didn't beliece that we would leave then so wasn't going to serve us! She then threatened to call the police if we didn't leave! I am absolutely mortified and disgusted. My poor granddaughter is heart broken. The other guests who has also arrived late were also turned away. I have never ever seen anything like it and advise everyone to spread the word to avoid this robbing insulting person at all costs. Absolutely disgraceful.
