Had a lovely evening here. The service was brilliant (thank you Joe!) and the food was delicious. Great range of tasty vegan options and not a meat sub in sight! Inspiring me to be a better cook ???? The drinks also looked amazing, will be getting someone else to drive next time!
Very overhyped place. Been wanting to come for ages. Convinced 3 other friends of going.
Service was very lacklustre. Staff seem apathetic. No smiles. No check ups. You feel like you're doing them a favour my being there.
We ordered drinks (£7 for Asahi is ridiculous).
We ordered several dishes.
What we liked:
- Korean fried chicken
- Cauliflower
- Tenderstem brocoli
- Tofu with mushroom and rice
What we thought was OK.
- Scallops and pork - pork was very fatty
What we didn't like:
- Salmon sashimi- ponzu sauce very watery, tasteless and adds nothing to the dish
- Kimchi and curry fries. More like fries topped wish kimchi and curry. Would prefer if fries are tossed in spices rather than dumped on top.
-Mussles- yes, in kimchi sauce but dish was quite tasteless. Mussles very tiny. Worst dish of the whole meal.
Definitely would not recommend this place. I know the interior is meant to feel rustic but tables were not clean nor were the side plates.
Insult to injury, a 12.5 % service charge for pretty poor service.
Stopped here for a quick lunch on a Saturday afternoon - the service was friendly and the food was very good. We tried the korean ribs, kimchi fries and salmon sashimi which were all excellent and well presented. I would definitely come back to try more of the menu as it all sounded delicious.

When I saw how small the menu was I hoped it was somewhere where they did a few dishes amazingly. And it is. The food is incredible, tastes amazing and very filling! Small plates which makes it good to share (which was great because we all wanted to try lots). The food felt a bit pricey initially, but it is clear the price reflects the quality of food and ingredients used. Food comes out as it is ready, so you know nothing is sat waiting under a heat lamp, which is always a bonus. I will 100% be heading back to try more of the menu!
The best Japanese restaurant in Bristol hands down! Staff are really friendly! Food was unreal! Huge portion sizes! Just make sure you book ahead, as this place gets very busy due to its popularity. Honestly loved this place! If you like Japanese food and drinks, this is a great visit. Thank you guys! See you again soon!
Went here a couple months ago with a voucher that we were given over Christmas.
My girlfriend has a sesame allergy, which we found out was the one allergy that couldn't be catered for, but unfortunately we had no choice.
Our waiter, who was also the manager, was incredible and made sure we could try as many dishes as possible, with the additional issue of me being gluten-free.
The food was great and we were incredibly well taken care of. Thanks for saving the evening!
A little too relaxed for my liking. Food was alright and had a variety of options for people with different dietary requirements. Service was a little too slow, taking about 20 minutes for the bill. Portions with rice could have a little more rice.
