I can honestly say this was the worst fish and chip meal I have EVER tasted. The ‘medium cod’ was no bigger than a large fish finger. It was over cooked and the chips tasted so heavily of the cooking oil that it was all I could do to stop myself gagging. An extremely unedifying experience.
This is our local chip shop and we rarely use it, primarily because we have always found the chips to be dry and there are much nicer places slightly further away in Stanway. However, tonight after our day didn't quite run to schedule, we decided to pick up some chips for dinner. They weren't dry as they usually are, but they were so severely overcooked that they were practically shells full of oil. Absolutely awful. Straight in the bin! I won't be returning!

I have just thought i had to here as the fish was awful. just ordered Large cod x 2
And it was absolutely disgusting ???? me and my mum threw them in the bin. The chips were nice though. I have used this chip shop in the past and always got a decent piece of cod.
Today they looked like a small to medium and the fish was hard and yellow inside & tasted awful.
I phoned them up to let them know and the lady said next time i will give you 20% discount.
I said there wont be a next.
As they say your as good as your last job.
Such a shame the quality has seriously gone down hill, with over cooked fish and the chips look and taste as if they’re been re-fried several time. The portions sizing has also halved with the price still going up. For what has been our local for a lot of years will have to look elsewhere in the future.
I'm not saying these are the worst chips I've ever had, but I strugging to remember any worse! ????????

Gross small portions for a shocking price. Says something when u visit and the salt shakers and vinegar shakers are chained down!
This has been our local chip shop for years and and seen many Chinese families run it and despite all the reviews of rudeness, I personally haven't experienced that.
However the portions are tiny compared to what they used to be. You ask for a large chips and you get a handful, you ask for a large cod and you get a goldshish. Sometimes the fish can be either overcooked or greasy but I've only noticed that when it's busy. Not value for money for what you get in portion sizes.
Chips are tasty tho, but if you want bigger portions go to somewhere like Nindy's in Stanway
I am so to say I bought sausage and chips for my grandson today . The chips were cold and oily and obviously old . The sausage had cold oil dripping out of it . For six pounds I thought it would have been fresh . They had only just opened
