Visited this butchers today with my Mum whom is recently wheelchair bound due to recently being hit by a car and I am thoroughly unimpressed with the level of customer service received from who I believe to have been the owner.
Whilst my Mum was still able bodied she would travel all the way over the bridge from Willerby to get their pies and would always get 8 - this has never before been an issue, however today when we made that journey we were immediately greeted with some of the worst customer service i’ve ever encountered.
Being wheelchair bound especially very recently even simple tasks such as going to the shops are incredibly hard and require assistance - as my mum cannot drive nor go up any steps I made the journey with her at around 3pm I walked in, having to leave my mum on the pavement outside and asked for 10 steak pies (2 more than her usual order as they’re a quick and easy meal for her to make for herself when I’m not around) 8 sausage rolls and 2 pasties.
Straight away the owner storms over and bluntly states ‘Have you pre-ordered these?’ I responded with oh no sorry! it’s never been an issue before even letting me finish she then goes on this long spiel about how she only has 10 left (she didn’t - if you are going to lie about the stock don’t have it on show) and just continued to be outwardly rude to us and talking down to us leaving my mum embarrassed,
she then continued to tell us she’d ‘Allow it this time’.
I’m shocked and appalled at this interaction - it wasn’t more so what she was saying to us but the agressive and dismissive tone in which she said it. As I mentioned before this has never been an issue before so it raises the question on whether or not the owner was being ableist.
I would rank lower however I’m keeping two stars as the rest of the staff have always been lovely and accommodating - the owner however need a crash course on manners.
Incredible service and a fantastic range of homemade products, supporting local businesses too. Great food at great prices!

I should have done a review for this a long time ago. This is a great village butcher that knocks the socks of butcher shops in local towns.
The products in the shop are of the highest quality. There is a wide range of produce and the quality applies whether you are buying a very expensive cut or whether you are just wanting a piece of offal.
As well as the meats there is range of cooked meats, pies, pasties, sausage rolls and such like (the sausage rolls are to die for). There is also a small range of sweet pastries - I've not tried these as I am diabetic but they seem very popular.
In addition there are other products such as flour, eggs, cooking sauces, crips and biscuits. Well worth a root around!
On top of this the staff are excellent. Polite, helpful, efficient and willing to give advice. This is the closest I have been to using a 'proper' butcher in many years.
They are top class.
Fantastic quality meats and produce, Friendly helpful Staff and Owners. I really appreciate being able to pre-order my selection and arrange mutually convenient collection times. Friends and Family at our BBQ and Dinners are always amazed at the quality and flavour. This may cause Ben and Sarah to recieve further requests! But I must say they have made Sausage & Mango and Sausage & Onion marmalade Chutney burgers for me OMG! They really are meat lovers delights! The Chutney caramalises adding an extra sensation! Thank you Ben & Sarah!
Absolutely amazing butchers, like others have said sausage and mango rolls,sausage and caramelized onion rolls are delicious but we bought a stuffed pork shoulder joint wrapped in bacon it was absolutely amazing so tasty. 10 out of 10 Sargeants.????
Love that you can buy one of whatever you want and it's not pre-packed. The choice of meats and cuts. Also, the friendly, efficient service. Ready made meals if you don't have time to cook. Homemade pastries plus quality cheeses.
Bought sausage rolls, pasties and chicken pies.......without doubt the best I have EVER tried and I am PURE Lincolnshire. Will certainly be visiting againfor quality such as this!!
