one of my favourite restaurants in Lanta. The owner is very nice and friendly even she doesn’t speak much English. I always come here for lunch. They have plenty of choice with reasonable prices. The food is amazing.
Sao&Ooy is truly one of the best authentic Thai restaurants on the island. To be honest we have visited this restaurant several times and thought it’s closed, however, there is this auntie/lady that works on her own, she’s absolutely amazing!
So if it seems like there is nobody there, just step in and greet her with Thai hello….
Fruit shakes are amazing, Pad KraPao with chicken was absolutely delicious!

Great little place. Easily missed if you whizz by on the scooter but I highly recommend stopping by. Food is amazing and much lower cost than some of the fancy local places. Run by a lovely couple, the food is amazing! I would also recommend the take away service & local delivery is available. Highly recommend this great place. (PS, I’d ignore the one star review regarding ants. It’s Thailand. Sometimes they just arrive on mass in a matter of minutes. I’ve seen it in the very best of places. We’ve never seen anything like this on our visits).
Walked in to sit down and said hello to the owner (nice lady). There were more than a few ants on the table but that was fine we just asked her to wipe it down. Opened the menus and there were hundreds (no exaggeration) of ants/bugs and also what looked like nesting eggs??
Very clear the menus have not been opened or cleaned in a while. We had to leave we couldn’t stay there which was a shame as the other reviews were very positive. The place and menu needs a clean before you can eat here felt very uncomfortable.

Il fait un petit peu chaud sous la terrasse mais quel délice ! Vraiment ! Meilleure expérience depuis longtemps !
La mamie qui fait à manger souffre de son pied raison pour laquelle c'était fermé le soir.
Nous y retournons demain avant de repartir , tellement bon!
Petit restaurant au bord de la route tenue par une dame très gentille. Nous avons mangé Pad Thai et riz à l'ananas : c'était délicieux. Les plats sont entre 70 & 80 pour ce que nous avons mangé. De belle portion bien généreuse !
