A tearoom here is a lovely idea but for me it didn't work.
I have a lot of questions about the hygiene of the tearoom.
The girl making our breakfast did not have her hair tied up and subsequently there was a hair in my partner's breakfast. The table was dirty and we were the first customers of the day!
The salad on display in the counter was wilted and molding. Our coffee wasn't filtered properly and the poached eggs were a joke.
The place needs a proper deep clean and a few simple start and close of days procedures regarding stock rotation to bring it up to being a nice place to eat.
(From a fellow tearoom manager!)
We went to this place after reading the reviews . We arrived was greeted by a lady in her 50 . Very friendly . We ordered 2 x full english breakfasts . When it came the sausages were like rubber ( Think they had been recooked to be honest) portions were not like the picture . But this was the clincher for me . I notice blood on the table half way though my breakfast it was t there before breakfast was served as I wiped the table down . I asked the lady who served my breakfast have you cut your finger she had a piece of kitchen roll wrapped around her left index finger . NO BLUE PLASTER . Her reply was no but there was a kid there before you . She came across to wipe the table minus the kitchen roll plaster ??? . Then went on to start saying oh do I know you oh you have that lovely face . I would never eat there again . Think the boss needs to run through hand hygiene and get blue plasters in for staff members who cut themselves instead of dropping blood on the customer's tables
Stopped for fish and chips cold no lights on or heating great in summer but not in winter brown chunky chips white inside but tasted great large cod tasted like it was going off. Got the feel place was under funded and lack of apeal very friendly guy in charge but won't go again.
We received a very warm welcome from the friendly and helpful staff. I enjoyed the best scrambled tofu I've ever had. The cakes were delicious too!
Lovely little hidden gem in the heart of the countryside overlooking the durbeville bridge. All of the food is locally sourced and you can really taste the difference! Lovely staff who were always smiling and happy to help.
Turned up here with 3 other families for breakfast before heading to Monkey World only to leave as quickly as we could!!
It was THE WORST AND RUDEST welcome I’ve ever endured from a miserable woman who clearly doesn’t want to be there in a dingy and grotty building.
One of the family went in first and asked “are you serving breakfast” to receive a snappy “yes” in response. He then asked if there’s somewhere he could change the baby’s nappy and her response was “does it look like there is”.
If you want the beginning of your day ruined and to get your back up for the rest of it, pay a visit to Ruby in her grot-room, otherwise steer well clear!!!
Def changed last time here about three months ago this time hash brown was solid egg crispy sausage hard generaly not worth price milk 3/4 full latte was just not made properly hopefully just one of but not be back while im here. Used to be more of effort made didn't even ask if i wanted sauce etc
Friendly staff but let down by cake being a bit stale. Cappuccino was ok though (asked for a Americano lol). No toilets but ok to use neighbours. On a busy junction. Not likely to go again unfortunately.
