As a long-standing customer I’d expect decent customer service when something goes wrong. Ordered chicken balls to be picked up, most of them were burnt, rock hard and inedible. Called up and was ‘offered’ either a replacement I’d have to collect, a refund or half a refund if I ate any! Nothing whatsoever for the inconvenience. I wasn’t using my fuel to go back again. Couldn’t get them to see that I shouldn’t be out of pocket for their mistake. Finally agreed on them delivering a replacement, they still wanted the food back so I gave all of it to the driver. They’re so tight they only included 8 balls instead of 10. Hope the whole lot wasn’t given to someone else. Needless to say I won’t be returning.
New to the area, we're so happy to have found Ruby's Cantonese! We ordered a Char Sui Curry with chips, S&S Chicken in batter with fried rice, pancake rolls and plain chow mein. The fried rice was bland, but everything else was excellent!Pancake rolls were crisp, tasty, but not greasy. The Chicken in batter was SO flavourful, tender and perfectly cooked, and the sweet and sour sauce was clearly NOT the standard jarred stuff that most Chinese takeaways use, and though I don't actually mind the taste of that, this sauce was definitely superior! My hubby said the curry was great, and even the plain chow mein was very flavourful. After trying 3 other places in the area in the last 3 months and being disappointed in all, we've now found our go-to for Chinese takeaway! Great service and quick delivery as well!
Ordered chix chow mein, special chow mein chix fried rice & sweet & sour chix. Presentation was good as was the smell however all three of us were suffering stomach pains shortly after eating & far to many visits to the loo.
Food wasn't as good tonight, couldn't put my finger on it was just not as good as usual which was a shame as we spent £27 on a take out for the 2 of us. Was going to send them a message via Facebook but no option to.
Would not recommend, chips were half cooked and the curry sauce is far too spicy. The new orient express is much nicer but was closed yesterday (Tuesday)
First time trying and it wasn’t very nice. Curry was like watered down gravy and chicken chow mein was like a stew, all ingredients precooked and boiled, don’t think it touched a wok or oil. All the meals were freezing cold too. Search continues for a decent Chinese takeaway in the area.

Last minute decision to order considering they close at 11pm. Ordered house special fried rice along with house special chow meign with a bag of chips at 10.25pm for delivery to bedlington. Total cost including delivery was £18.10 . Delivery arrived at 11pm. Never ordered from them before and I WILL DEFINITELY BE ORDERING FROM THEM AGAIN. FOOD WAS HOT AND TASTY VERY GOOD PORTIONS . WELL DONE RUBY CANTONESE. THANK YOU FOR THE HOT AND TASTY FOOD. OH AND THE TASTY BISCUIT THINGS . I WILL DEFINITELY BE ORDERING FROM YOU AGAIN. GREAT FULLY APPRECIATED. Excellent King prawn and chicken satay, plus fried rice, and house special Chow Mein. Everything was spot on as was the delivery service - very quick.
