A traffic accident led us to pulling in here, and to our surprise it’s a great wee pub. Being from down south, couldn’t believe how cheap the prices of the drinks were and the atmosphere was one of familiarity.
First stepping through the door, I actually thought I’d stepped into someone’s front living room, and everyone looked to the newcomers stepping in. But it wasn’t like when the music stops and the pub goes quiet, it was just a welcoming acknowledgement to see if more friends had walked through the door as this is clearly a place of regulars.
All you could ask of an English pub really.
The pub is really old and could do with a upgrade and redecorated but you can't get a better Sunday roast than here everything is cooked fresh and you get 4 veg besides the roasties and mash these are all in serving dishes and there is ample
This pub do not do food any more they haven’t for 4 years
The pub has a friendly atmosphere, decor was a little tired, it was a short walk to the river. Could do with better signage from the main road. I would go again.
Throughly enjoyed our food, really well presented tasty. Real English pub, clean and tidy. Friendly staff. Will definitely return.

Bar staff are always friendly and polite. When he does food, the food is immaculate. The customers are friendly and welcoming.

Went for a wee and drinks and had to climb over some creep, no idea who staff were and dirty looks from everyone so even if there were staff, they’re disgusting
We spent couple of hours in a great atmosphere and really nice people. Great place for a good quality pint. Kevin and I enjoyed our selves and that was the first time ever I did not get bored in the pub as the landlord was very entertaining and had us in stitches at times. We will be back there again and hope that the landlady gets better soon. xxx
