I moved to Geneva from Rome and this place definitely has a Rome feel. I was there on Good Friday and the owner/barista was extremely nice and jovial to everyone, even greeting some customers jn italian who came in for their Easter bread. And the coffee and pastry were delicious.
Jamais vu un pareil mauvais service! Le café est bon mais cher. Le serveur est juste détestable, aucun accueil, attente insuportable. Fuyez cet endroit.
Très bonne qualité de petites douceurs à prendre avec le café. En revanche, un thé chaud (un sachet dans une petite tasse d'eau chaude!) à CHF 6.- c'est totalement exagéré ! Le service est moyen, les serveurs font ça avec désinvolture et se parlent entre eux en même temps qu'ils vous servent. Bof bof
Maravillosa cafetería con variedad de cafés e infusiones a elegir y estética cuidada, también tienen licores y alguna cerveza para elegir. El baño es mixto, viejo y feo
I had one of the most mediocre and expensive coffees in my life here. I didn't have much expectations but price is killing me.
Cappuccino for 9 CHF.
Nothing special at all and I honestly don't understand where the price is coming from.
UPDATE (after owner's response): It's interesting how I'm asked to do more work and contact someone else because I shared a feedback.
I don't have a receipt anymore, but it stated smth like CAFE in the name of the item, and not cappuccino. It was on Sept, 19 around 8am.
TRIGGER WARNING - RACISM. (English below) Le monsieur qui tient le stand de ce café au marché de plainpalais a dit des choses racistes (il a parlé de "désherbage" pour un certain type de population) et lorsque je lui ai dit que ce n'était pas entendable et qu'il devrait avoir honte, il m'a envoyé balai. Si vous pouvez trouver du café ailleurs, je vous encourage à le faire. J'allais souvent à leur stand et au café et je n'y retournerai plus, je l'en ai informé.
The man who holds the stall for this company at the plainpalais market said incredibly racist things to me (he talked about "weeding out" a certain type of population) and when I told him he should be ashamed and shouldn't say these things, he told me I'm free to leave if I disagree. I told him I wouldn't be coming back (I've been going there regularly and to their café). If you're able to get coffee elsewhere, I would encourage you to do so.
I suppose the best coffee in Geneva-as it would be brewed and prepared in Italy.
The place also offers a cozy environment with newspapers and delicatessen from south of Italy (try the panettone or the parmigiana when available!).
The waiter was really happy and kind.
Que dire de plus... Nous avons attendons sur la terrasse avec mon amie mais personne n'est venu nous servir ! Après 10 minutes je suis entré et finalement sans me dire bonjour un serveur me demande si je veux quelque chose...mais lol !
Je suis partit dépité...là on touche le bas ..
