Called in for a quick takeaway to eat before our journey home from visiting the area.
Service with a smile it was not…made to feel like an inconvenience for ordering.
Fish was awful and like it had been warmed up from yesterday. Chips…mostly soggy scrumps; I like scrumps but have never been served them soggy before…curry sauce like water. The only redeeming factor was the bread roll tasted like a bread roll.
A great visit all round and the only thing stopping a 5 star review is the fact the fish had the skin on and was over cooked, meaning the skin side was so chewy. I’ve just realised now they also forgot my mushy peas. However the bread was lovely and the chips and onion rings were great too. Good service given the busy environment. Clean and tidy place with good parking. Great coffee and dandelion and burdock. Please remove the skin and double check the whole order before sending the food away. Thanks.
This place used to be my top choice for fish and chips. While the food quality remains good, I recently had two consecutive disappointing dine-in experiences. The staff, both women, were exceptionally rude, displaying an unwelcoming attitude and giving off a vibe of "why bring kids" kind of face. While personal preferences regarding children may vary, it's unprofessional to bring that attitude into a business setting.
Despite this, the fish and chips are still among the finest in Swansea. However, I won't be returning to dine in anymore. I may consider ordering online if necessary.
Didn't want to hurt rossi sraff Feelings, but the cod was OK. But the batter was over chewy, overcrisped & rock hard on each end. Stabbed my gums, so we couldn't eat it. The Cod meat was barely filling and looked like it was farmed in a weight loss camp. So hardly any meat and then curled up each end. Chips was perfectly done. 5/5.
If compare it to "youngs Cod brand" it tastes miles better compared to what we had. Now that's super filling fish meat and perfect batter that keeps it flat.
Even the fish cake was lukewarm & tasteless..so added salt & vinegar to flavour it up.
The place looked super clean, super cosy and welcoming. The staff are great there, kind & professional. So 5/5 for them. But overall the price is extortionate, in my opinion. £9 for Fish is super steep. To jump £6 to £9, nope. So won't be going back for cod & chips. Maybe I'll try something else on the menu.
Food was bland and expensive. You also have to pay to park in their carpark or risk a fine of £100 if you go over the free 30 minutes which is a disgrace. I will not be back.
Absolutely shocking experience today. First time we’ve been there for a while. Shocked to see we only had half an hour free parking when eating in. Ordered our food which took nearly 20mins to come. After advising this only gives us 10 minutes for us to eat our food, the women laughed and walked off. Considering it took a while to come the food was cold and not what we’ve used to! Never returning again
Food was disgusting...not our first visit but thought we'd give them a second chance....soggy cold chips and some green ones ....they should never be eaten !! Green potatoes should never be used!!....fish was dry overcooked and goodness knows how long it had been there...more skin then fish and what batter there was,on the fish was terrible....this was a dinner time visit so should have been fresh....pies were OK but they're bought in so not down to Rossi's....the original owners would never serve this stuff!! Adding insult to injury the girl....who couldn't understand 2 lots of fish and chips...fish and chips twice or any other way of saying it...overcharged us...after paying well over the odds for this so called meal we found we were overcharged too!!! Even our dogs wouldn't eat the fish or chips and they love their food....enough said!! The original Rossi's was great but these owners need to sort it out......don't waste your money here... drive a little bit further there are better chip shops close by.
Fish disgusting chewy and hard chips were vile always loved the food here never again!! 33.00 small fish and chips 1 kids chips and gravy and 2 cokes..Been ill all the following day never again don't waste ur money.
