I'm really livid. My aunt booked and paid £75 for a twin room with en suite for her brother and her nephew at the Rosemount Hotel in Buckie so they could attend a family funeral. Unfortunately one person had to pull out at the last minute so it was only the one staying. Anyway, I've just found out from him that 1) their idea of en suite is a wash basin in the room and the bathroom was down the hall. 2) There were 2 dressing gowns in the wardrobe in case ........ very thoughtful 3) because he arrived quite late, they had the audacity to charge him £25 extra for that privilege when he checked out. When I phoned to complain I was informed that it was in their T&Cs on their web site that if you arrive after 9pm a charge applies and basically tough. I booked by telephone not on line and she never said anything about extra charges so sorry to say, we feel totally ripped off. £100 is way over the top for a one night stay and I can assure the Rosemount that I definitely won't be recommending them or give them any business in the future. It isn't just the money, we don't like greedy folk or feeling like we've been taken for fools. So, if you are ever up in Buckie you know what the Rosemount is like. Disgusted and disappointed.
Amazing experience! Really felt more like home than a B&B.....still have fresh memories of the warm reception from the owners, the spotlessness of the entire place, exceptionally welcoming bathroom, exquisite homemade food, etc cannot be overemphasised. I will certainly go back again and again....highly recommended! Thanks again Ellen & Andy :)
Bucket wasn't our first choice as we we wanted to be closer to collude but it ended up being ideally situated for lots of places (the wildlife dolphin reserve, aberdeen, duff town distilleries and coludden). Lorraine was a thoughtful host, stocking the fridge and cupboard with little local treats. The apartment is huge with one room we never even went into. The boys (10 and 11) loved the fuss ball table and the wild coastline. A lovely spot and great accommodations
Fantastic stay here. Beautiful room, breakfast was very succulent and displayed well, you eat with your eyes I was told by the owner. Hope my second night is the same xxx
A very warm welcome, fantastic food great company Andy and Ellen could not ave been more welcoming, spotlessly clean rooms and a great view over the sea. We will be returning again mid September
Ellen and Andy runs this B&B that can be described as nothing less than a pearl discovered. Clean nice modern rooms, great location, great food and pleasant, friendly and accommodating people in charge.
We've had a nice stay. The room was very proper and the bathroom was clean. The only downside is that you can feel the springs in the bed when you go to sleep.
It's ok. Nice rooms, lovely view, responsible price but can get cheaper nearby at a few places. One owner was lovely and the other a bit pushy and awkward to be around.
