Straight forward chippy, well fried fish and decent chips. Not sure what all the complaints are about, if I'm being picky the chips were a bit bitty. They now accept card payments which makes things easier, the fryer was cherry enough with a few customers that came in.
Bought steak pudding and a large portion of chips. The portion of chips was smaller than any small portion I've had anywhere else ever. Chips decent, but portion should have been 3 times bigger at least. Disappointing. Been about 10 years since I've been here. Probably leave it another 10 years before I try again. Maybe it will change hands in that time and someone might buy it that wants to give reasonable portions. £2.90 btw for this tiny portion of chips !!!
Food portions are atrocious - the owner was very rude and the customer service wasn’t very good , I asked what ingredients they use in the curry sauce and gravy, and the reply was very rude , it was like he couldn’t be bothered. The interaction was disgusting they need to learn how to speak to customers and be more friendly.
I felt they were being racist and were very rude , was quite disappointed with the behaviour. Not to sure how the place is still running with the way they treat people a specially Asian Muslims.
Absolute vile the older lady with blond hair working here needs some advance training in customer service. She needs to learn from her colleagues the young girl how to treat customers. The the older lady has no respect for customers with different ethnicity very rude, racist and childish for her age. The owner needs to start looking at hiring actual worker that will do there job properly so the owner know what his staff is doing. And the food in this place was absolutely rubbish waste of money waste of time. Was totally like a Karen Cafe if you would like to pay for bad service this is the best spot.
Great fish and chips and good service from the staff
Ordered large portion of chips (£2.70 iirc) the portion size was very small.
Two sausages was ordered only recieved one.
The chips was very nice but the portion size was pathetic.
Disappointed. If that's a large portion of chips, I'm a monkey's uncle! I had been before recently during lunchtimes and asked for a small portion of chips, which were good. Today, I went at teatime and asked for a large portion of chips. It was the same size as the small portion! Perhaps the lass behind the counter had not seen my face in there before so thought she could swindle me. 2.40! Hey, I won't be going there again! I had to call at another chippy to get enough chips for everyone at home. And what a difference!
First time visitor to Roe Lee chippy and wasn’t disappointed. Great service, great price but most importantly great quality. Would absolutely recommend a visit to this family run business.
