I popped in and had a roast here today. I’m veggie so chose the quorn fillet (best to book ahead) the veg was lovely, clearly not frozen as suggested by another review, my faves were the roasted parsnip and the broccoli cheese.
I had the small roast and it was delicious. Also on offer was beef and pork.
I would definitely recommend this place.
I’ve also been previously for a pizza in a Friday that Waldo delicious.
The waiting staff are polite, friendly and approachable.

Have been waiting a long time to come and eat here. They have been upgrading the kitchen which has taken some time. Anyway, the restaurant area was very nice and presented lovely. Unfortunately the food didnt deliver. We were expecting a carvery however, the carvery was a little strange. You were called up to get your food that comes out with the meat and stuffing ball in a large round Yorkshire pudding. The rest of the food is then placed on the plate for you. Including cauliflower cheese. Which all seemed a bit northern to me. The food seemed to taste of that familiar frozen food from Aunt Bessie. It could be because they have only just started to serve a Sunday roast but it wasn't pleasant home cooked food. The meat was tough and not cut from a joint. It lacked flavour. Very disappointing even though good value. The cakes were lovely though the vegan cake I had was half the size to what my guests had on their plate. Maybe they need to get established first. I'll come back in 6 months and see how it fairs.
Been here for 2 Sunday roasts now , food was excellent, full of flavour and tender beef , probably the best cauliflower cheese I’ve tasted !! Keep up the good work, we will certainly be back ????????
We wanted some food but the kitchen was closed for refurbishment.But ...was told if you ordered a takeaway you can eat it here. We were very grateful as having moved that day with nothing to eat.
The new landlords are amazing , do so much for the local community. Had the best Christmas party there for the children today. All free and absolutely buzzing. Thanks guys
Lovely lasagna with salad & garlic bread! Really enjoyed it. Staff very friendly, nice evening.
Really good carvery on a Sunday. Must book does get busy and not alot of car parking space. Good food, friendly staff.
Sunday afternoon... its missing atmosphere and homeless.. its not like it used to be.. beer is good though.
