This restaurant is open and serve delicious desserts and outstanding and tasty soups.
Beautiful location. Beautiful food. Beautiful people that work there. Really enjoyed the chowder, pastries, coffee and friendship. Two large sea caves nearby as well as Elephant Rock. This place is a dream on the sea.
Absolutely loved our visit. Really nice people, great vibe. Felt like home. The best Apple pie I ever had! Can’t wait to go back!!
Stopped in after wife hiked from the rope bridges to Ballintoy. The food was not fancy but delicious. I had the Irish stew and husband had the champ with gravy, bacon and sausage. Liked how the baked goods were made fresh on site. It's not fine dining, but the service was good and food excellent. Also as the only restaurant down in the harbor they could really gouge customers but thought the prices were fair.
It’s Pitty that they say you can eat breakfast when at 8AM, 9AM, 10AM and finally at 11AM they closed. Anyhow staff came at 8:30 so I do not understand why it’s taking 3h to prepare a coffee, tee and some bread. When asked when they open - “I don’t know”. And btw CASH ONLY!
A delightful little restaurant that we had the good fortune to frequent during our stay at Harbourview Cottage in Ballintoy Harbour. We learned later that the restaurant was open for the week due to the Northwest 200 event in nearby Portrush. Normally they aren't open until the summer season begins in June. Our first day in Ballintoy, we dined for lunch. Excellent Seafood Chowder! A generous serving with wheaton bread. Oh my goodness. We were sold! and decided we would skip cooking at our place and just dine at Roark's.
Johnny and Megan were very friendly and chatted with us each time we visited, which on our first day was twice (and multiple times during our stay). We came back after hiking the coastline to have dessert. Hands down the BEST! We had the Strawberry Pavlova. Unbelievable. With every spoonful, it was a wonderful mouth-sensation with a lightness that made you believe you could order a second -- but dare not.
We learned that their popularity has grown increasingly since the filming of Game of Thrones--another little fun fact we acquired after our arrival. We didn't mind waiting; we were assured of the quality of food for a reasonable price. The three-generation restaurant still uses Megan's grandmother's recipes. To us, it was well-worth going each time.

A must visit when in ballintoy. If you like desserts this is the place for you. Sea food chowder is amazing
Location, location, location, amazing food and drink, although the day we arrived they had none of the veggie options except for a veggie melt.
