This cafe was absolutely lovely! The atmosphere was friendly, polite and happy! The young ladies working the till for us were welcoming, friendly and both had a smile on their face!
Our bacon (with hash brown) Baps were near enough perfect! The Bap itself was delicious and the hash browns were cooked amazingly!
Highly highly recommend!
Would give 6/5 but I can’t unfortunately!
I had a Cornish pastie came out with small side salad. A pot of tea came out also with pot of water..
Various pizza's, palinnis, jacket potatoes. Quiche.. bacon or sausage bap.
Breakfast before 11am
Cream teas..
Indoor and outdoor seating.
Public toilets inside of car park.
Short walk to Town centre..
Catch the ferry from here up to Dartmouth..
Or Bus round robin..
Highly recommend
Beautiful cafe..
Decided to try the veggie breakfast, cooked well, warm plate makes all the difference, excellent location next to the river with Seals to be seen at certain times of year.
I'd recommend coming here even just for coffee as nice and relaxing.
Very well organised and very nice afternoon tea. We had a lovely time sitting watching the swans. Great scones at good prices
Lovely riverside views, very friendly staff. Tasty food and reasonable prices make this a great place for breakfast, brunch and afternoon tea. Simple but yummy menu. Definitely recommended ????
Nice location next to the river as the name suggests.
Quick transaction at the till and polite helpful staff.
Ice cream sundae was completely melted by the time it was served so essentially a milkshake with brownies in it.
Would I eat or drink here again is just a matter of can I be bothered, I’ve only visited this cafe once so they might been having an off day in the kitchen who knows as I’ve only got this first impression to go on.
On the plus side for parents of small children there’s a play frame in the shape of a ship which will keep them occupied while you have a rest.
Stop and try them out would be my recommendation although I have marked them down for my visit it’s a nice location with plenty of tables and lovely on a sunny day.
There is also plenty of space inside on a day when it’s less sunny.
Under new ownership - ice cream prices have raised to extortionate level - can’t see it being a place the locals will continue to go to go on this basis. Ice cream also not frozen enough. In fairness not tried any of the food. Staff pleasant. Place looks tacky and down market now with an excessive amount of signage and a display styled like river flotsam - shame.
The shrimp/prawns was like coop standard. The jacket potato was microwaved. The milk for the milkshake was sour and gave me a belly ache
