Best KPortal Reviews
This is the absolute best coffee shop, ever.
Friendly, knowledgeable owners who always go over and above expectations.
You will never be disappointed.
Not only is it a great coffee shop but when you need a gift, for that hard to buy for friend or relative, you'll find something to suit here
Nice place in a beautiful village. As a self-declared coffee house the flat white I ordered was not brilliant (photo attached) with the milk not knitted well. Had higher expectations. Limited food (mainly cakes). A few seats outside the front and an area around the back. Nice vibe.
A nice place to stop for coffee and a cake. This little shop provides a lot of nice little items, chocolates, biscuits, jams, paintings. The garden is perfect for sitting in on a nice sunny day as it's well shaded. The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful.
As it happens two.of us picked this as an idea place for a drink, having searched on line for near the festival site. We had coffee and scones with jam and cream, service was very friendly and Dog and Baby were made to feel welcome. The only downside was the small pots of jam, as in many places we fund the pots of jam do not do justice to the lovely well risen scones.
Do check opening times to avoid disappointment, we went on Saturday and they close at 1 pm (13:00)
While there explore the village its medieval church and the springs at the source of the river Cam.
Super coffee and cake, right in Ashwell's historic High St. One of Hertfordshire's finest villages
Lovely cafe with a great atmosphere with interesting local books & artefacts. Tasty coffee & delicious cheese scone. Recommended. .
Lovely coffee and hubby highly recommends the home made cake. Proprietor is a very friendly lady, shop is very clean and tidy. Shop also sells some Italian clothes and selections of beauty therapy gifts. Cannot comment on toilet facilities as did not use them. Staying at local camp site - will definitely return here for another coffee and cake on next visit.
We popped in for Coffee and treated ourselves to scones and jam, sadly like many places jam came in those tiny pots with hardly enough jam for one half of the yummy scone let alone both. The ladies servicing were very friendly and helpful and made us all very welcome including the baby and the dog.
They were most apologetic having to ask us to leave as they close at 1pm ( to be fair Google had shown the closing time when I found the place on maps.
We ate downstairs in the shop but they also have the delightful courtyard seating area.
They also sell a fabulous range of cards and gift items.
Do take time to explore Ashwell with its many timber-framed and thatched buildings, Ancient church, and the Springs which provide the source of the river Cam, with its stepping stones.
(Check the shops opening days and times as they are not open everyday.)
