We loved absolutely everything about our stay here. The owners, Alwyn and Awen, were super kind and welcoming; nothing was too much trouble for them. The b&b is a stunning barn conversion, done to a very high standard. Our room (one of only four, so it’s very intimate) was spotlessly clean, cosy and comfortable, with a modern en-suite. The guests can also use a shared lounge and a kitchen annexe, where the breakfast is served in the morning. Initially, we found the table setting a bit odd, as there’s only one small table for two, and another big one that sits the remaining 6 guests. As it turned out, we actually loved sharing the table with other guests, and had a good laugh with them each morning. If you want to secure the small table, you need to be quick as it’s first come, first served, but with the bed being so comfortable, we never actually even bothered trying. The breakfast was delicious, made using high quality local produce. But the cherry on the cake was the huge hot tub in the garden, to which guests have unlimited access. All you need to do is simply let Alwyn know what time you want it for, and then enjoy! If you’re looking for peace and quiet, look no further. The location is very remote, yet still close enough to local amenities (the nearest pub is a few minutes drive away). There’s plenty to do and see in the area; fantastic walking routes, picturesque villages, seaside towns, dozens of small galleries selling local artists’ works, etc. Good for stargazing too, weather permitting. Alwyn and Awen are superb hosts; what they created and offer to their guests is truly special, and you can tell how proud they are about it and how happy to welcome you there. We will be back for sure!
Rhostwarch is unlike any B & B I have stayed in. The setting is tranquil, the facilities second to none. The sitting/sun room is wonderful to rest in watching the clouds over the mountains. The hosts are exceptional, so helpful and welcoming in, yet unobtrustive. The breakfasts are really good, fresh ingredients, great choice and you know exactly where the eggs have come from! You are encouraged to make tea/coffee during the day and to use the fridge. I honestly cannot find one negative comment to make. If you are looking for peace and tranquility yet easy access to places in Pembrokeshire, this is the place for you.
Really enjoyed our stay! The room was clean and comfortable, the hosts friendly, and the breakfast delicious. The hot tub was a great bonus and a great way to end a day of walking. The area is quiet and a great place to relax.
When arriving, we found that Google maps gave correct directions while Waze took us the wrong way - double check before departing, access is off the B4329 where there are signs.
My girlfriend and I stayed at Rhostwarch for a couple of nights.
Rhostwarch is located in a very quiet and peaceful area but conveniently not far from interesting local areas such as Newport and Cardigan, the former perfect for a beach walk.
The venue is very well designed utilising the previous stone shed, allowing high ceilings, visible beams giving a very light and airy feeling (Pictures of the renovation were in a photo album at reception!)
The bedrooms and en suite were clean, well prepped and a comforting place to relax in.
The Hot tub was a great feature and set privately behind carefully arranged hedges.
Alwyn was a delight to talk too about the farm and its history, Awen was very attentive at breakfast (by far one of the best and filling breakfasts we've had in a long while).
Highly recommend to stay here.
Very clean, very quiet place. It is tucked away from the main road. Easy to find. Great fresh local produce breakfast. Open from about end of March till late autumn. Cardigan is the closest town. We did just over 250 miles around the south of Wales and in 3 days visited a lot of places. There was hardly any traffic. Just be careful of the narrow roads.
We have just returned from a weeks stay at this Gorgeous B&B. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we felt as if we were in a home away from home. The Hosts are incredible, so warm and welcoming. The newly converted Barn is stunning, the rooms are cosy and lovely. I found the bed to be exceptionally comfortable and the rooms all come with a fantastic en suite bathroom. |The cooked breakfast is delicious, local produce cooked by experts. The setting will blow you away if you want a peaceful rural retreat in an area of natural beauty. The well maintained hot tub is just another added extra in an already perfect stay. |The area is perfect for walks/beach’s and everything in between. We didn’t want to leave and will certainly be returning, most definitely worth the 5 hour drive from Kent! The Pembrokeshire coast is absolutely stunning and the lovely town of Newport is only 10/15 mins away by car from the B&B which is a perfect place to start one of the many coastal walks. I highly recommend the Castle inn pub and golden lion pub in Newport to, just don’t forget to book in advance! Thanks again for such a glorious week away from it all, see you again❤️ Jess and Sophie
The hosts were lovely! Rooms fantastic! This is a very quiet place we only heard two cars the entire weekend (one of those was another guest). The views from the garden and entrance were amazing! We got to try their blackberry gin, well worth asking about it! The recommendations they gave for local restaurants were spot on! Worth asking before you get there due to places being booked in advance. The bacon for breakfast was amazing. Will be going back to explore more of the area.
A nice remote bandb varied choice for breakfast, room was nice, however no tea making facility in the room. You would certainly need a vehicle if you want to visit places. HOST WAS VERY HELPFUL.
