I didn’t expect but they use an old trick: selling an out of date product by sticking a sticker with different expiry date! The original expiry date was August 2023 but the new sticker says 2025! Do you guys really care about trust? I bought it this week… ????????????
Popped in as this place had been recommended for cake. It was my birthday and I wanted to get a cake to share with my family.
I chose a small chocolate cake with blackberries and strawberries.
Honestly it was one of the most delicious cakes I've ever had. Really soft and with bits of chocolate flecked through the chocolate cream. The strawberries were huge but really flavourful.
It wasn't too sweet at all which I so often find with shop bought cakes.
Rex will now be my go to for birthdays.
We also bought some choux buns on a whim as we saw them being brought in freshly on a tray, and we weren't disappointed.
Stay away from those fresh pistachios very pricey not good quality and mixed with old rutted ones at £20 kg none of them is open when you peal the green skin…
Waste of money
The staff at the shop were untrained and disrespectful, which led to endless delays while ordering a cake. They were also rude in their behavior towards me. Rather than apologizing for the delay, they spoke back to me. Their lack of professionalism ensured that my first and last visit to the shop was a complete disappointment. This was a very sad experience for me.
Why you are not displaying the price of the items you are selling , Please label the price for every item you are selling, You are selling the cakes but there is no price we have to ask for every item how much is that, how much is this! respect the customer with showing the price of each item. I will come back next time if I see you have priced everything selling with clear receipt will remove this review otherwise it would be good to keep it as expecting respect when I am paying money. I have to stay in the queue asking how much is this cake has it walnut/ benana in it etc... simply detail everything with the price of each item you are selling, this is annoying when need to ask the price for everything this make doubt that you are overcharging.
Nice and clean, staff were friendly, i got cake and coffee for only £2,99 , you can choose the cake you like. Coffee was fine but not great like the test of the cake. I did not find a sitting area so i get my cake an coffee as take a way. See pics. I will cone back for sure.
Our go to place when it comes to buy fresh ingredients to cook persian cuisine. They also have the best flat persian bread ( Sangak and Barbari) . The service is great and the gentleman called Omid is so helpful. There is also plenty of parking available.
Obviously the best Iranian confectionery you can find in the UK. I can say they compete with the best confectioneries in Tehran. Very fresh, tasty, and exactly as it should be. Shirini danmarki and rollet are the best ones. Whenever I travel to London, Rex is my last place to visit to take lots of stuff with me when return to Birmingham.
Thanks Rex, you always give me a great feeling of the taste of Persia.
