Couldn't fault it.
+Staff were helpful friendly and knowledgeable and couldn't do enough for you.
+Small cosy setting (a terrace house downstairs converted into a dining area) in two rooms with an open kitchen in the middle.
+Open fire.
+Clean toilets.
+Menu is changeable as it is based on fresh fish and food deliveries. +No vegetarian options offered, but all meals are adapted by the chef on request.
+In the Michelin Guide.

+Great Treat.
Had such a fab night at nr20. Everything from the considered interior, cosy atmosphere, friendly service, incredibly delicious food made for a great experience. I had the pumpkin ravioli with sage butter to start with followed by the brill fillet with cannellini beans which were all scrumptious. The meal finished as strong as it started with perhaps the best panna cotta I have ever had. I also couldn’t resist a taste of the burnt cheesecake. Would highly recommend!
Wow, wow, just wow! This place is pure gold. I can’t really describe sufficiently how amazing the experience was. The restaurant is intimate and cosy, dripping style and sophistication, but remaining so comfortable. Front of house is welcoming and efficient, but engaging and fun also. But onto the food. Everything was prepped, cooked and seasoned to perfection. A particular highlight was the brill and the panna cotta. Honestly, this is the perfect restaurant with a team of 4 (run by husband, wife and two kids). Strong recommend, by far the best restaurant I’ve been to in the county.
Absolutely perfect. There's no other way to describe this place.
Resteraunt 20 uses fresh locally sourced ingredients to serve a somewhat limited albeit exquisite menu, dependent on what is locally available.
Service was prompt and informative, whilst not being overbearing. The atmosphere is small, secluded and extremely romantic.
What an amazing find.
This was a surprising delicious meal we had while on holiday along the Yorkshire coast. My first thought was that the name ‘Restaurant 20’ was pretentious, but the dining experience was the opposite- a candlelit living room turned dining room. This was a perfect cozy meal between friends.
Our bill was about £63 per person with drinks.
The menu was short and meat heavy, but everything was delicious. We had grilled sea bass and a small steak, both excellent. Starters of beef salami and mozzarella and one of the stars dishes was the Light and delicate panacotta, yum.
Sue was a wonderful host and offered us tips on where to find local produce and fish.
A hidden gem! I was treated to an evening to celebrate a special birthday. The restaurant is discrete and unique. We were welcomed with a warm and friendly face who made us feel like friends throughout. This was my first Michelin experience, I had expected pretentious, possibly a little “posh”, yet the staff were approachable and the setting was cosy and comfortable. I felt welcomed in to someone’s home. The food was absolutely delicious. The menu small, yet we felt spoiled for choice. My partner and I chose different dishes throughout so we could get a taster for everything. We went several weeks ago now and we are still talking about how amazing it was. We like to rate dishes out of 10, and on this occasion, everything got a 12!! The waitress was attentive and generously topped up our wine ???? this restaurant was worth the visit to the East coast! I am already hoping to return …. Thank you number 20! What a beautiful and special experience!
Small cover restaurant with an understandably narrow menu. Good quality ingredients but safe. What could have been a pleasant experience was ruined by has been opinionated elderly front of staff who quite possibly had done their time at Royston Vassey. This restaurant has all the criteria essential for an immediate failure so book immediately.
A small menu, but all cooked really well by a tiny team. We made this a destination dinner out and I am so pleased we did. Tiny restaurant and a bit of a blink and miss it location. But the food stands out- fresh, local and seasonal. Well constructed courses that let the quality of the food shine. We'll be back.
