First time in many years that we have booked a caravan break in the uk. It was our granddaughters 5th birthday on the weekend of the coronation, we were looking at a site not too far away from us in Nottingham, so we started looking along the East Coast around Filey & Scarborough, the first site that we looked at was Primrose Valley, apparently this is the largest Haven site, unfortunately when we tried to book there was no availability, the next site that we looked at was Reighton sands, a smaller site apparently with less to do, again very limited availability, so we acted quickly and booked a Gold caravan at Reighton sands, we were a little apprehensive about what to expect, we need not of worried, we arrived and quickly made it through security at the front entrance, made our way to our caravan, wow!! How things have changed since I was last in one, the Gold caravan on Lakeside was amazing, modern, extremely spacious 2-bedrooms one with an ensuite, the views over the coast line were beautiful, having spent the last 3 nights at Reighton sands, I can honestly say that the whole site is spotless, every member of staff that we encountered whether it was the security, the bar staff, the restaurant staff were so helpful and friendly, this break was lovely and has definitely made our minds up to return at some point, on Sunday we took a trip to the sea life centre in Scarborough, on the way back we popped into Primrose valley to see how different it was to the Reighton sands Park, we didn't stay long but our first impressions were that we had fallen lucky booking Reighton sands, Primrose Valley was also very clean, but far to big, and very flat, this meant that you didn't get the lovely views that Reighton sands offers, we will definitely be returning, maybe even later this year, thank you all of the Haven staff at Reighton sands for making our mini break so enjoyable.
