Great place to eat, portions very generous, friendly staff, reasonably priced
My family and I have been regular visitors for a few months now, always friendly service and delicious food. Today was completely different. We waited quite a long time for the main course but it is Sunday a lot of work I understand we will wait. 10 minutes after the second course was finished the waitress came over and took away only part of the plates. No one came back for more and no one offered dessert. We waited another 20 minutes at the table. No one was interested in us. It wasn't the fault of the large number of guests because 3 waitresses were standing at the console and chatting, when we left another two waiters had free time. As guests we felt disrespected and are unlikely to return there again.
Friendly service. Went when quiet. No booking in advance but was welcomed in all the same. Carvery not on till Thursday through to Sunday. Over the road from the Dalmahoy Hotel. So if you fancy a change of scene from the hotel it's worth a look.
Nothing to do on a Monday evening or any evening tbh you wouldn't be wasting you're time with a wee trip here. Very inviting friendly staff and slightly elevated gastro pub food cooked well and served with a smile. We sampled the lasagne and fish and chips and they were both excellent nice portions and well cleaned up. We are going to start going regularly and will try everything on the menu thanks for a very tasty treat.
Can't say much about this place other then when my wife and i along with another couple walked up to the entrance an apparent fist fight had broken out between what appeared to be two patrons and then staff standing outside got involved i believe. (They were wearing all black like wait staff). Needless to say wife and i turned around and left.
Had Christmas Dinner here with the family. Very disappointed! Paid almost £60 each and we were served slop. No other word for it. Some of the food was unidentifiable. Only the cooked meats were OK.
Great place for dinner.
The steak, the meat pie and the Sunday were all amazing.
We went on Monday for food and drinks. The food came quite quickly and was nice with generous portions. The service was also very pleasant as were all the staff. I think that is due for a refurb as that is the only thing that I would say let tha place down. All in all good value and good quality for your money ????
