Went for a blood test on saturday. Everything was fine up until i had to have a needle stuck in my arm. The nurse seemed new but when she was drawing blood for the three samples they needed, she mistakenly pulled the needle out after the second bottle and needed to use my other arm for the last bottle.
I did make a remark about how it was more painful this time and she said its fine. Fast forward half an hour and my arm is killing me after she used my other arm.
Its been 4 days and my arms have bruises which did hurt for the first two days but now its just marks left over.
Did make a call but no one picked up. But thought i should let people know ????.
The Healthport at Vicarage Lane have a sign up saying they are no longer taking blood samples and are redirecting to Lytham Road Clinic, this was on 24/02/2024. However myself and others were turned away at Lytham Road because too many people were already there.
Limited parking at Lytham Road Clinic.
If you're thinking of going for a blood test maybe a phone call to the clinic you're going to beforehand would save you a wasted journey.
Really helpful staff, been there just before Christmas.. The nurse shared her chocolates.. This what you call humane staff:)
Visited to attend blood clinic, arrived 10 minutes before it was due to start to find it closed due to number of people waiting. Apparently people queue for 30 minutes or more to get in. I then went to another clinic on the list to find it cancelled. Surely the appointment system was better than this? At least you knew you'd get your bloods done!
Compassionate & caring , I cannot thank the two podiatrists who took care of my son . I’ve forgotten their names but they will know who he is from my name . Just so understanding and totally professional. Thank you so much .
Blood clinic temporarily moved to Fulwood clinic, but no notification of this online so I wasted the only morning I could go.
I had an appointment for an ultrasound of my kidneys today at Healthport Preston
Reception staff were polite and well informed. Seating area was busy but very clean and tidy. My appointment was for 14:45, I was seen early. The nursing and technical staff were very polite helpful and well informed. The procedure was completed and I was informed of the time it would take to get the results to my gp. On my way out I needed to use the facilities which were clean and tidy and well signposted. I departed at 14:52, 7 minutes after my allotted appointment time. Brilliant , Amazing, so seamless and effective.
The way that two of your staff spoke to me and my mum was a disgrace. I was 8 minutes late for my appointment as I have significant issues mobilising at the moment and could not get patient transport, so was stuck in pain in the back of the car which took 20 mins to get in. I rang to say I was going to be a little late and they informed me that if I was to get there within 10 minutes it would be fine. We got there before the 10 minutes and was met by two very rude staff who persisted to raise their voices at my mum after refusing to see me claiming we were over the 10 minute waiting time (we weren’t). I now have clips in my knee and no dressing changes for over two weeks due to lack of appointments, have been in serious pain and to be spoken to and treat like that was not ok. There was an older gentleman who was also refused to be seen because he didn’t get up the ramp in time for his appointment when the ramp itself was sloppy due to ice. Have a bit of compassion for people and understanding. It’s not like we were taking the mick and we informed you we were going to be a little late. My mum then got told to take me to a&e where there was at least 7 ambulances waiting outside with patients in them and I feel me going in to a&e for something that could be done in the clinic is a waste of resources anyway, especially with the pressures they are under.
Something seriously needs to be done about the way this clinic approach their person centred care and look into how to be empathetic towards the patients in their care. A formal complaint will be made in regards to this incident as well.
