A pity to report that the district “nursing team” at the Port Glasgow Health Centre are the least professional and the most obnoxious and uncooperative “team” I have ever experienced. Having registered in the area temporarily in March 2024, I wanted to arrange for my district nurse care while I was back in the area (as I have had at my home in England) following my cancer diagnosis and extensive surgeries to remove a bowel tumour. When I tried to arrange things via telephone the staff members I spoke with (including Fiona Sinclair) were extremely difficult, hostile and rude during our conversations. I received an extremely snotty phone call to refute my position as a housebound patient despite previously having had the temporary arrangements in place at the end of 2023. The “team” made comments including “if you’re able to travel up here by train (with assistance) then you can get to the health centre” and “we did you a favour with the previous arrangements” which I found to be both astounding and ridiculous as a patient with severe nerve damage to the left leg, two nephrostomies and a catheter rendering me unable to walk or pursue daily activities normally. I was surprised they did not understand that the NHS is a service paid for with taxpayer’s contributions and not a “favour” based system. The irrational hostility and discrimination I experienced was totally uncalled for and I sincerely hope no other patient has to experience this type of toxic behaviour from what appears to be a deeply unhappy and unstable “team”. Despite direct contact from my usual GP surgery and my local district nursing team, the ornery team at Port Glasgow Health Centre (including the male general manager) still remain uncooperative and unsupportive to myself as a cancer patient. The general attitude of the district nurses can only be described as hostile, bitter, uncooperative and unprofessional. I will pursue my complaint with NMC and the CQC to protect the interests and human rights of myself and other patients. For anyone who happens to be in the area in need of district nursing support, please try to contact providers in the surrounding areas for your own safety and sanity. Best regards, Alex
Dr McDonald and partners plus every other member of staff are great,it's my family practice ????
Dr Mc Cartney & Partners is an excellent Doctor's practice, the best I have ever come across.
Can't thank them enough for all the care over many years. The staff and nurses too are always there to help, they are wonderful, helpful, efficient and most of all smiley and friendly, above and beyond!100%
Can’t fault this practice at all , I suffered so long with my conditions until I moved to this health centre ! My doctor . Doctor Mitchell and the rest of the panel ( I can’t thank you enough!) I have a diagnosis', a treatment and a semi normal life ! Best practices of doctors
I recently moved to Greenock,i have to take a tablet for an under active thyroid i was told until i get registered in greenock i can still get my meds i rang up today & was lied to they told me ive registered with another doctors, the reception was rude & told me i couldn't get my meds i should go get a registration form for Greenock to get them,so she basically contradicted herself i am absolutely fuming that p re actice needs training for people skills, their reception people think they are doctors ill be seeing how high i can go about this ,absolutely disgraceful. Health board here we come
My practice is brilliant both the doctors and the receptionists they go over and above their duty I'm ob a lot of medication and I can phone the receptionists who help me get what I need Its Holmes croft behind the older centre DR GROSE and my chemist and their delivery drivers go the extra mile to thats M&N Green in Port Glasgow Thank you to all
Haven't dealt with them much, but they have been very kind and very helpful.
Very rare to have receptionists who don't rush you, so thankyou.
Could be better. Won't dive into my issues but the doctors haven't done much to help me, so much so that I'll be leaving for another health centre.
