The hotel is in a lovely setting down a quiet road. Peaceful and with beautiful views. Birds and wildlife all around.|There are lots of walks to go on just yards from the hotel. |We were greeted by our host who was friendly and very informative. Suggesting places to go for food. The room was a little tired but very generous size and clean. The bathroom had lots of space for putting things. Shower was a bit weak but not a major problem. The bed linen was lovely and clean and the bed very comfortable. The quiet and comfort have us a really good night's sleep. The hotel does not do food so we walked to the pub in the village and had a meal. Very nice too. Breakfast was good. If you want relaxing, quiet and beautiful surroundings away from the rat race this is the place. I would love to return.
Wow loved the location of this hotel . The views were to die for our room had a good view of the sea . Loved the sound ,smell and the freshness of the sea. Paul was very friendly and has good knowledge of places to visits and nearby restaurants. Breakfast was enough for us and fresh bread was yummy. Would definitely go back we love Wales anyway.
I don’t normally write reviews, but I felt this place deserved the recognition, we stayed here for 2 nights with our two little ones, we met Paul who runs the place and got a lovely welcome and had a lovely chat about the history of the building very interesting!!||Paul cooked us a lovely cooked breakfast|Rooms were clean and bed were comfy|The decor is dated but this keeps in character of the building and I think would ruin if it was too modern. ||This is such a unique family run business and really are a dying breed across the UK where the big hotels are taking over, we will definitely stay again when we’re next in the area. ||Thank you for the stay.
Fabulous location, tremendous views, very nice rooms. Plas Morfa is no longer a restaurant, but continues as a small hotel. Very friendly greeting and easy checkin. Room was excellent; good size, great views, comfortable bed. Bathroom good and modern. Only complaints a slightly weak shower, and one bulb not working int he room. Breakfast is good, though the quality of the sausages could be better. The key thing here though, is the location, just feet from the beach and less than half a mile to the village. It's quiet, spent the evenings watching and listening to the sea. Just fabulous.
I stayed here for the August bank holiday weekend. It was very peaceful and enjoyable and a great spot for a weekend getaway. I'm definitely visiting here again.
The location is perfect - right down by the beach with truly panoramic views of the bay from New Quay right round past Aberystwyth and up to Snowdonia on a clear day - a brilliant view to wake up to. It's also far enough off the road to get away from the noise. The hotel is also right on the coast path so it's perfect as a base for a few days of hiking or birdwatching. Parking is ample.
The rooms are good sized - I stayed in the smallest room in the hotel and it was actually bigger than I expected. The shower was hot and powerful, there's a TV and a big kettle with lots of tea options. There's free WIFI throughout - connectivity was a bit shaky but when it was working the speed was fine.
The breakfasts are pretty good - this would be a five star review if they made a bit more effort to source some fresh local produce, especially for the sausages, bacon, jam and honey (there are some fantastic local butchers and farms - it would make a world of difference).
I didn't have dinner here while I was staying though I feel I should have done - it seemed very popular and the restaurant has four stars from the Welsh tourist board.
The staff are friendly and helpful and happy to make recommendations if you want some inspiring local knowledge.
I'll definitely be staying here again. I've been coming to this area for 30 years and I can't believe I've only JUST found out about this place.
Great hotel right on the coast. The room was a bit cold because there is no climate control in the rooms. However, we were given an oil heater which helped. Breakfast is good and we never had to wait very long. It was cold and rainy while we were there but the location looks great for a summer trip.
Would thoroughly recommend staying here. So peaceful and quiet. No traffic noises only the waves crashing on the shore.||Fantastic breakfast.||Comfy beds with a clean and warm room ( yes the heat was turned on in August as it turned very chilly.||Paul is a very friendly guy, very helpful.||I visit the area once a year and will definitely be heading back.||Thank you for a lovely stay.
Lovely place with a warm welcome. Easy to find and ideally situated for Aberystwyth and Aberaeron. Lovely area to take walks. Paul was friendly and welcoming; a relaxed approach to hosting. Room 5 was nicely decorated and had fantastic views. Good breakfast.
