Great busy shop, it’s a long time since I’ve tried them so decided to go again, didn’t have the special, but tried the regular, great taste & great staff
I have been coming here since i was a kid & it has always been the best chippy in wakefield! but last couple times I have been standards have dropped massive! Beyond greasy, sloppy & never cooked right. Such a shame as this has been passed on in the family but its gone down hill & can see from other reviews.
This is a lovely little fish shop if you fancy a bite too eat. The staff were friendly and we didnt have to wait too long for our food. We called in to get something for dinner and we enjoyed all our food everything was good nicely the food had a good taste and you got a decent sized portion for the price would definitely go back again.
Excellent fish and chips without the franchise cost. I will not get fish and chips anywhere else if PJs is an option. Highly recommend
We travel from Leeds for these, so that should tell you all you need to know. Never had a disappointing visit. On my top three favourite traditional fish and chip joints.
I have been using this chippy for thirty years and visited yesterday when checking in with my elderly mum in Ardsley. The blonde lady at the counter was delightful , although the lady in the headscarf that appeared from the back was not so friendly, will leave it at that. However the fish and chips were just awful ( never happened at this establishment before for me) . My mum thought exactly the same. Hardly any batter covering on the fish and the fish was also very dry and over cooked, indeed it had all the hallmarks of being warmed up! Won’t stop going but hope this isn’t a sign of things to come
Beautifully cooked haddock in a golden crisp batter and lovely sweet tasting chips perfectly cooked no grease reasonable price friendly staff highly recommended
Best fish and chips in Yorkshire portion always get too much always enjoy them
