Been a regular customer of pilkingtons for many years and I nearly always have my dog with me when I visit as it's close to where we go to parks etc , never had problem before but waited outside today to order some food to be then told staff aren't allowed to come out to customers anymore to serve because I had my dog with me. I wasn't wanting to come into the shop or staff to come outside usually can manage purchasing from the doorway nowhere near my dog but maybe called at a bad time and maybe not like dogs well no problem at all myself and my family will be changing to a different bakery from now on. Shame really the food is lovely but some of the staff are quite rude. Need to move with the times many food resteraunts and pubs accept dogs these days no concern about hygiene my family and I stuck with pilkingtons through thick and thin spent fortune over the years including during covid which helped keep businesses like this open and staff in their jobs but today made to feel like second class citizen because I'm a dog owner well no pilkingtons dogs are far superior to any human at pilkingtons
Pop in approx three afternoons a week for a butty for the wife and I as we are both working from home.
Always go for the turkey salad and ham salad, but they have not had any picalilly (prob spelt wrong) for months. No big shakes coz I add when I get home.
Nice staff. Not tried their pies yet, but I'm a jock so will only eat scotch pies.
Incredible steakslice probably the best in Europe only thing i would say is the flooring needs to be improved. The staff are absolutely wonderful and know their way around the bakery very well. It's an easy 5 stars for me keep it up Pilkys yous are doing a great job.
I've just been to the shop near daven sports. I was made to feel like I'd interrupted a conversation which then continued whilst the women making my sandwiches got my order wrong after which she pretty much threw my change at me without a word. I live around the corner but haven't been in for exactly this reason. Okay sandwiches with the absolute worst customer services. There is a better sandwich shop down the road who don't treat you like you've just pissed on their leg. Terrible
Sandwiches, pies and cakes are good quality, but you have to be careful. Counter staff are so busy chatting amongst themselves they dont always listen to what you want. You feel like you are intruding in someone's break time. So expect sausage sarnies without sauce, sugar in tea you didn't ask for, and missing mahonaise.
Having resisted the temptation to step inside the store for several weeks, today I decided to treat myself. I was in awe at the sheer choice once inside. I selected a Rocky Road slab and a Fruit Slice but I have got my eye on several others that tickled my taste buds. Got a feeling I will be enticed in, every time I head for the park, now.
Meat and Potato pies hardly contain any meat..bought 4 and cost over £7 for pastry and potato. Plus if your wearing a mask a visor and turning away from your customer..please don't hum and hard when they cant hear you...rude
I was refused to entry even if I had an exception with me. Avoid at any cost. This is discrimination and its against Equality Act 2010. So definitely won't recommend this place to no one.
